The girls I went with to the stop in Council Bluffs this last weekend made a friend of Mike Haugen, and he came to Topeka yesterday to bowl a little and have supper with us. He's been throwing Lane 1 recently. I believe he's thrown nearly every single one of them, even some of the discontinued ones such as the Black Raspberry, the original black Carbide, and the Carbide LRG. I had to ask him what he thought, being as he throws Brunswick, and still uses Visionary once and a while. It was a great chance to get an unbiased honest opinion. So I asked, "Now, I post on a bowling forum where a lot of people swear that Buzzsaws hit and carry better. How would you compare them to other companies?" He says Brunswicks seem to be a little sharp and snappy on him, Buzzsaws roll a little truer and more predictable. Then he said, "I'd have to say that Buzzsaws really do hit and carry better. I can obviously hit the pocket with any company I throw, because there is no magic ball that's going to go 40 feet and turn regardless of the conditions, but when I hit the pocket with a Buzzsaw, I know they're all going down more often than not." So there you go, an unbiased opinion from a pro that's been there and done that. I've had four Buzzsaws and really noticed a big difference in my Carbide LRG and recently my Blueberry. My Emerald was wrong for the conditions, and the Cherry Bomb was way too much. Don't get me wrong, my Time Zone beats the crap out of them, but when my Blueberry gets in mixer land, the pins are low, but they're flying all over the place.
