Title: Lane 1-----am i taking the correct route?

OK, first I have to say that I love Track Equipment and will more than likely not be taken away from that. I am never beyond trying different equipment though. I am not one of those guys that stays with one company-----no knock to those saw lovers that only use lane 1.

I bought a buzzsaw xxxl a while back and thought it was awesome for dry lanes. Great hit, and carry for a plastic. Last week I got a Blue Berry from a fellow user----the ball is far too light for me, but I wanted to try it anyways. I like it, it goes long and snaps very hard. The hit is good, but I just cannot keep from missing left with it due to the light weight. So far, I like the ball and wish I had a 16lb.

After seeing a few of my friends throw a Cherry Bomb, I want to try a Black Cherry, and I have already contacted Doug Sterner to purchase one. This one will be 16lbs so I will have a better idea. The Black Cherry would easily fit my game better than the Cherry.

Currently I am trying to get a few older Lane 1 balls to see if they will match my game, or atleast how I will like them. One of the balls I am going to try is the XL-----I have never seen it thrown, but figured it would be nice. And the other is the Pro Purple. What should I expect out of these balls?

I do not want to sound like a desperate person, but if anyone has any old lane1 stuff lying around and would want to get rid of cheap----let me know. I do not want to put out Lane 1 type money and hate a ball.

So with the BlueBerry being light......and going after the older stuff...is this the wrong way to go about trying Lane 1? I would tell most bowlers to NOT do what I am doing. I just think it is the incorrect way to do it. Even after the older stuff I am going to try, the Black Cherry is probably my best way to rate lane 1---atleast on that ball.

Check with Doug Sterner and see what he has and if he doesn't have anything, he may be able to find it for you.

I have just purchased a couple of used Buzzsaws to try.  I had tried some NIB a few years ago and was not impressed then so am hoping that these will work better for me.  I also just ordered a NIB Black Cherry Bomb from Doug.  Sounds like I agree with your method.

I have some experience with the Pro Purple; I like(d) it a lot. It is a particle pearl that should be kept in shape with Trizact, which works perfectly with this cover.

The ball has  medium-low RG and low flare, but the cover is decently strong. Drilled with the pin at 4" and under the ring finger I was able to use this ball on a very wide variety of conditions, but my speed is less than yours. YOu may be limited to medium-light to medium.

This ball is one of the ultimate control balls, with almost any drilling; again, with your high(er) speed, don't be afraid to drill it full stacked leverage. The ball's reaction is very even under every condition that I can think of. It will never snap or skid/flip. When nothing else works, this one will.
