Let me add my 2 cents Bill.
When I received my Red Death my rep warned me that the ball was going to hook. So I laid it out weak (6x5 or 50x6x50 for you Dual Angle folks, pin over middle) so I could attempt to use it on our regular house pattern. Well, that was a total bust. The ball was very sensitive to release, speed and lane variations.
What I would suggest is that you choose which ball to buy based on the back 1/2 of the lane. If you tend to see carrydown, then the Red Death with a 2000 or 4000 surface (or lower grit with light polish) will work best. If your backends tend to stay pretty clean and crisp then I would suggest you go with the Blue Death drilled something like 5x4 (pin up or down is your choice).
What I can say about my Blue Death is that even with the pin under bridge and cg out (5-1/4 x 4 or 35 x 5-1/4 x 75) the ball gets great length, still reads the middle and will absolutely explode off the corner all while retaining a strong continuation through the pins.
Best of Luck....
