Hey BR and Lane #1 Family,

Ok, so shoot me for thinking a ball looked so good!
Yesterday I bowled a tournament and one of my buddies
was throwing one. I also saw another bowler using one
on the pair to my right. Boy this ball looked nice, especially
with another coat of polish on top of it.

Here is my question. I am a High-End Tweener with 15-16mph
speed at the pindeck (quibica scorers). In the OOB condition
what lane conditions can your Cobalt cover? (Mediums? Light Mediums?, etc.)

Thanks!
Ram

the layout on my cobalts are both the same, pin directly below ring finger and Cg swung right about 1 1/2 inches except one has been hit with 4000 abraylon pad and has a X-Hole in thumb positive Quad, the other is out of box condition and no X-Hole.
I use mine on medium heavy down to lighter mediums if there is little or no oil there is no way I can use either of them they hook way to much

OOB; Medium/Light to Medium, and like Roy Munson said also depends on your line.

Over all this ball for ME, it great for a THS.

I love my Cobalt...anyway, I kept mine with the oob condition as I do on all of my balls, I just polish it after about 5 games or so.

Here's what my CB looks like...

My Cobalt is excellent on a typical THS med-oil shot not to be confused with a med-heavy oil shot 'cause if it was it would turn in a little late for me and come in behind the head pin.

Infact just last Sunday during practice I threw my Cobalt for about 6 games after I had to put away my Roto-Grip "Epic-Battle" and all I did was stand at about 25 and swing it out and BAM it came flying back..it was a beautiful thing

Also, with this ball I can throw it straight up the 12 board if the conditions are calling for that. It really is one heck of a ball, have fun.

Light Med-Med at best, Very strong on these conditions, Hockey stick reaction, But med/hvy it squirts out the back and its time to go back to the bag

mine is drilled 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 stacked pin next to ring finger.i use mine on 33 feet blended to 38 feet, 50-60 units in middle 8 to 8.8 to gutter 4 units clean backends.mine is not skid snap its real clean through the heads and turns hard on the backend.i thought it would be skid snap but everyone that sees mine says its so smmoth with hard arc.

I agree with Retroman; I have used my Cobalt on everything up to medium heavy (60 units in the middle) and I have found that it gets a little squirty once you get to medium heavy.  It works best when it can burn off a bit of energy in the mids by finding some dry outside, so I just wait until the lanes break down and then it is pretty good.

This ball is pretty over-under for me; I would like to try it on wood lanes because I have a feeling that the reaction would smooth a little but still be very powerful.  I am starting a league this fall at a wood lanes house, so we'll see how it goes.

With the majority here mentioning in the area of light to medium oil on the Colbalt, does this mean it could be somewhat comparable to the old Emerald Buzzsaw?

To me not really this seems to have a better mid lane roll with a harder move on the back end.

It would not, You are comparing the c/2 core to the bomb core, The cobalt has a more hard arc or snap reaction whereas the emerald was more of a even gradual arc reaction, Length they are about the same.

Same for me. On anything heavier than a medium shot, it either skids out the back door or, if there are big backends, it is squirt city. Our local THS (two houses) is pretty heavy... not good for the Cobalt. I have only had one good outing with mine...it was a tourney where everyone was having trouble with their hook in a box balls being too aggressive. I was in my glory with the Cobalt for that one weekend!

Well I don't get around to many houses or shots, but mines drilled stacked and I used it at nationals without any problems. Didn't shoot anything great, but that was more me and not the ball. Doesn't help much when you hurt your leg first ball of practice in team, and you got Kristal Scott on the pair next to you shooting 816. Think it got to the point i'd just want to run up and throw my ball quick so I could get back and watch her and her teammates.

On my THS it's like a thing of beauty  Our THS could let you swing a white dot if you have any decent hand though so <shrug>.
