Drilling is the key...
I have a XXXL drilled label and the ball can be played as a straight ball or make a hook..
others have suggested a negative drilling like in the vid (see lane#1 homepage) to get more even reaction for higher rev players... We have a high rev slow bowlr here who uses the XXXL like a normal reactive would move with my style!
whatever you choose... the XXXL is more than any plastic ball without a core (or better to say a pancake which imho is not a real core)!
... on a drier THS I can even play the ball sending it down first 3 boards and get the pocket. and if it really gets dry... the XXXL is very good
The CCD should be similar but a I guess with the smaller core and the clear plastic (which in most cases is a tad harder and skids more imho..!) weaker
Just keep in mind you get something between a weak reactive and a standart plastic and with the XXXL imho a strong plastic ball (it still is not a reactive.. any oil will make the ball skid in my case).
wish you the best with the ball.
if you don't use a wrist brace opening the wrist a bit will make the ball go straight. (at least for me
