XXXL & Crystal Clear Buzzsaw

I am interested in one of these as a replacement for my current spare ball. However, I'm concerned that they will have too much hook. What are your opinions on these balls?

The Crystal Diamond is much straighter than the Black or Red XXXL's.....

Drilling is the key...

I have a XXXL drilled label and the ball can be played as a straight ball or make a hook..

others have suggested a negative drilling like in the vid (see lane#1 homepage) to get more even reaction for higher rev players... We have a high rev slow bowlr here who uses the XXXL like a normal reactive would move with my style!

whatever you choose... the XXXL is more than any plastic ball without a core (or better to say a pancake which imho is not a real core)!
... on a drier THS I can even play the ball sending it down first 3 boards and get the pocket. and if it really gets dry... the XXXL is very good

The CCD should be similar but a I guess with the smaller core and the clear plastic (which in most cases is a tad harder and skids more imho..!) weaker

Just keep in mind you get something between a weak reactive and a standart plastic and with the XXXL imho a strong plastic ball (it still is not a reactive.. any oil will make the ball skid in my case).

wish you the best with the ball.

if you don't use a wrist brace opening the wrist a bit will make the ball go straight. (at least for me )

I love my Crystal Diamond. I use it for a spare ball, but you can make it hook if you want it to. It's nothing for me to set it down on the 2 board and have it hook over to make the 7 pin. It's all in how you have it drilled and your release.
