i worry it might be too close to the chainsaw w/ those #'s, but the pancake flip block might help

Isn't the Diff quite a bit larger than the C-Saw?  Probably thanks to that pancake block...

That's correct.  Primarily why it's a Medium oil ball and not light oil.  And don't worry dawg.  The core is cut in half.  Reason why the pancake block is there.  It'll be a completely different piece.

+1 there BITG.  It's there for a reason.  Probably to compensate for the half cut, end cut, diamond core.

Wow so you guys don't seem to think that making a core skinnier will actually create a high diff?  That it must be caused by the pancake block?
Title: Re: Lane #1 Gemstone
Post by: ImBackInTheGame on June 24, 2009, 01:33:44 PM
I guess I thought it was the same core as the C-saw with an added pancake.  But I see now that it's the same end cut diamond yet cut in half, making it skinnier?  Not much diamond left after all of that cutting, lol

also weight moved to the outer regions increases differential as well

wonder if it has a marked mass bias

pricing looks good, nice numbers for a mid priced ball, and if you go by their claims on the coverstock, it is a pearl version of the hybrid cover on the new dynamo x2

No problem.  Anyone else?  I don't know I am actually asking a serious question.  I always thought pancake blocks had lower Diffs.

Look at the picture of the core and maybe you'll understand the effect it has because of its orientation - go to BBE or Lane #1 forum for the core picture.

Right.....it's the OG Chainsaw core, but cut in half.  And added a pancake flip block.  Like from the Hacksaw.

original diamon both ends cut off (just like original chainsaw) but then they cut the core in half vertically, then added the pancake flip block to the ball

like i said in the other post decent looking numbers on a mid priced ball

Pancake blocks do have a low diff and highest RG usually. Only not when coupled with an actual core.
