As a few of you might already know, I decided to slap a Rico drill on my Hybrid DirtyBomb in an attempt to make it more versatile and less snappy on most conditions. It's not quite the "official" rico as the weighthole ain't 6 3/4 through the CG from the pin. But pin is in center of grip and CG at 45 degrees. Pic:

Anywho, tested it out on the biggest wall in the area as our Junior Master qualifier is there in two weeks and wanted to get in a few games of practice beforehand. I stared out with my Backyard Bully and this thing wouldn't turn up in the middle kinda like I expected and had to get it out to around 5 with good rotation to get it back to the pocket.

Next was the Absolute Inferno and it too skid too far down in the middle and made a very smooth roll to the pocket from outside 5 like the Backyard. Couldn't pull the ball as it didn't have the strength to bite through the oil. And now, the Hybrid DirtyBomb. With a low pin position and slightly scuffed surface, not highly polished, this ball really revved up in the midlane. Strong enough to make it through the fairly heavy oil in the middle. Once I got it around the 7 board, where it was considerably drier, this thing still didn't charge off the break like it once did but instead had a nice strong arc to the pocket.

Bowled 4 games. The first using a variety of all three balls ending with massive 177. lol. Next game I switched soley to the HDB and after the the fourth frame, went off the sheet for a 247. Here's where it got fun. I started out with the front nine the next game and apparently got a little fast and almost left a pocket 7-10 but the 7 went down late. Converted and struck. And I thought I had a 300. lol. Got 2-3 lucky breaks tripping out the 4-9 and 4's. Maybe luck or Lane1's doing? I'm not entirely sure. But I'm extremely impressed with the roll and carry with the HDB now. Plus it looks cooler going down the lane. Got a nice mixture of yellow and blue swirling. Awesome matchup. Well, I think I got a keeper with this one and definitely gotta look into some more Buzzsaws.

Personal specs in profile. I hope this helped a few people, part of it was a rant lol, but I couldn't help publish my findings. But I think I turned the HDB into one heck of a benchmark. Try it out.

Only One More Ball I Promise

I re-drilled my Dirty Hybrid very similar...my pin is just Northeast of yours (almost to the glare in your pic), and the CG is swung out at the same angle. I also scuffed it down a bit on the spinner (green Scotchbrite). I really like the look this gives, but you must have oil. Any hint of the lanes going away, and this sucker will burn up. That means it's Tsunami time!

mine is pearl U with standard Rico, quite strong and steady, this is my favourite ball now.

I put a Rico drilling on my Pearl Carbide Bomb, and this thing is amazing.  It might be a modified Rico, however, since it only has a 1" pin.  But anyways, this thing is smooth about 3/4 down the lane, and then it makes an amazingly HARD, not snappy, turn to the pocket.  I can't wait to try it out in league.  I will keep y'all posted...
