Dilema of sorts
« on: September 20, 2007, 02:38:20 PM »
Ok,
I had a Solid Uranium, liked it but the drilling made it flare over the finger holes.  I then noticed a problem with it, talked to Chuck at Lane #1 and he said to send it back for a replacement.  Well  . . .   I arrived home from work tonight and there was a message from Chuck.  He says that he can't send another Solid Uranium because they don't make it anymore and he told me I have my pick of balls from the current line up, even the Supernova.  Right now my arsenal is:
Frankie May Gryphon
Immortal Pearl
Enriched Uranium
The One
Ogre Pearl
Uranium HRG
Green Blue Centaur

What should the replacement be??  G-Force Solid over the Gryphon, a Nebula to stand in for the older EU.  I really don't know.

first question, where did the solid u fit?  and are you looking to put it in that spot?  I see possibly a hole above the FMG for true soup.  but for most heavy house shots it is perfect.  the G force solid should handle more then enough oil and will probably be a touch longer and more angular then the FMG

the supernova in my opinion could take the place of three of those balls, the IP, EU and One could be rolled up into one the supernova is that verstile

Nebula might be a good fit. It's a different reaction than the EU. I found room for both (I chose different drills as well).

On edit...I just wanted to add a comment on the Supernova. I have only put about 10 games on mine, but I like the ball very much. Thing is, there is plenty of overlap with that ball and some of my other equipment (which you too may find with what is already in your bag). Either way, I am happy with that ball as well.

I would go with the SuperNova. The cover can be dulled to your liking, similar to the Solid U. It has a lower RG closer to the Solid Uranium, giving it a smoother roll like the U. From what I've seen, this may be Lane #1's best ball ever..!! =:^D

Well,
I just got the 4 Visionary balls, so I haven't gotten a feel for where each ball fits in my arsenal.  I rarely use The One, the EU for me is my favorite league ball.  I would say the Solid U would'vew fit in between the Frankie May and Immortal.  If the Supernova is that verstile then maybe it would work.  I want something a smooth as the SU.  It's probably between the Supernova or the G Force solid.  I could always adjust the surface on the Gforce and then dull it back up for heavy oiled tourneys

Lane #1 customer service is great!!!  I just got off the phone w/ Chuck.  I chose the Super Nova.  I'm not sure how to drill it.  Suggestions??

I drilled mine 4" pin to pap and 4" MB to pap. Small weight hole on the axis. Let me just say that this ball covers some boards! I am still trying to get comfortable playing this deep! Just when I think the ball is going to quit, it keeps on driving. I cannot wait to try this ball at the other house...heavier shot.

Super Nova, without reservation, which might, as trigger said, replace more than the one, thus opening up your arsenal.
