from what I have seen, the cobalt pearl is far stronger on the backend

if you are going to make such a vague comparision, at least list the drillings and ending weights of each ball and what you were trying to throw them on.  both balls are great peices, and even better when placed on the proper lane condidion

based upon your drillings, two observations

1) with a pin to pap of 4.5 and the cg out 45* assuming the pin is on the same line as the fingers, you have virtually taken a portion of the length away from the cobalt
2) with a 4.75 x 4 drilling on the smokin you have left most of it in, once again depending on pin being equal to or above the fingers.  so yeah they probably are siimilar  the cobalt is using most of its hook in the mid lane where as the smokin is retaining it for the back.  so they look the same, simple deduction from that tells me the cobalt is stronger but drilled to be more midlane, now my second guess would be that the cobalt is experiencing a little burn up but that is jsut a guess

def not the same cover, your two drillings have added to one ball in length but taken away from the other.  plus all pearls feel the same, there is no way to distinguish covers by feel.  Granted both covers are made by Big B but brunswick as far as any of us know, does not use a hybrid mixture of pk18 with any type of activator
