First, let me say that the video looks nice. Good job on the video. Yet, all videos people post have similar looks, hit, pin carry, etc.

The problem people have with that Lane 1 ball is the price of $310 plus drilling which means a total price in the area of $360+ plus tax which would put final price in the area of $390 to $400 depending on the tax rate of your state. For that price, a person can buy 2 premium balls from most companies of which both can give the same performance  on the lanes. I don't mean to condemn the Lane 1 ball as no doubt it appears to be a good ball, just condemning it being way over priced for the same performance that balls for half that price give.

I thank everyone for their comments and I welcome them. I know some folks tend to fall asleep before I start bowling lol I admit I did to. I just try to add a little more info in the video that is tech data and my written review on the ball along with rolling that bad boy. I tend to get impatient too so I can understand that part for you guys and im sorry. I will try to shorten that part up just a tad for ya.

yes I use to be with C300 I was on staff for 1-1/2 years. I dropped my contract per email conversation with Rob Gotchall this summer. This was my decision and they didn't want me to leave but for reasons that are not needed to be expressed on here. I respect Rob and C300 but I decided I needed to move on.

as far as price goes yes they are little higher than some other balls with other brands. however its one person who designs these and then patents the core. with the restraints that storm now has on smaller companies who pour their stuff at 900 G plant. makes it a lot harder to get products out. i  know nothing of the cost for making the product or the amount of mark up. But what I do know is the tech data help you get from Richie to drill your lane#1 to its maximum performance is worth time and effort. cant do that with other companies as a whole with just anyone calling. Im not here to save bowling lol im not a super hero.

What I aim to do is be the best staffer I can be to my ability for lane#1 and Richie and help as many people as I can to become better bowlers.  I hope my videos help folks or at least its entertaining.

oh and by the way i have several cases of lane#1 like the CrankR that are NIB box ready to be shipped.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to let me know.

thank you guys for watching.

+1

That being said, there is this:

as far as price goes yes they are little higher than some other balls with other brands. however its one person who designs these and then patents the core. with the restraints that storm now has on smaller companies who pour their stuff at 900 G plant. makes it a lot harder to get products out.

That's great and all, but at the end of the day, what does this reasoning do for me as the customer?  It doesn't address the point Brick raised......that I can get more value via Storm (I use that example as that's what I tend to throw).

i know nothing of the cost for making the product or the amount of mark up. But what I do know is the tech data help you get from Richie to drill your lane#1 to its maximum performance is worth time and effort.

I have a great shop that understands ball motion/layout (has Mo on speed-dial etc) so the issue for me wouldn't be so much of getting performance as much as.....again.....the COST!  The ball most certainly would be worth the work and spending some time on so that I'd match up.......but again if it's worth my "time and effort" does that validate the COST?

cant do that with other companies as a whole with just anyone calling.

Uh, whatever this means, ok.....  :-\

What I aim to do is be the best staffer I can be to my ability for lane#1 and Richie

I don't think anyone would doubt this.

and help as many people as I can to become better bowlers.  I hope my videos help folks or at least its entertaining.

Can't find issue with this.....I concede this is noble.  The vid was well produced.

oh and by the way i have several cases of lane#1 like the CrankR that are NIB box ready to be shipped.

I bet you do!  Who's a good staffer boy for lane 1 and Richie?   ;D  ;D  ;D

If anyone has any questions please feel free to let me know.

Why should I buy your product if I can get more value from Storm (____ insert brand here)?

thank you guys for watching.

I support GTGT's breakdown. He did an good job of being factual and honest in his breakdowns.

I do honestly kid about the staffer thing....but the question of value is fair.  I tend to throw Storm products but even with Brunswick/Ebi/Motiv there are a lot of great value choices.  I don't mind paying for top notch stuff but there is a limit.

If they sell at that price point......then, good for them?   :-\  :P

Good times,

I appreciate your feedback. I know my post had a lot of info on it and I'm sure it seemed a little out of order and not clear on things. That's my fault and I was typing on my cell phone which isn't always easy and sometimes it doesn't let me scroll up to see what I wrote. In case I need to correct something. Thank you for the compliments sir. As far as the price goes I don't know all the ins and outs of how that amount is figured to be. I have had the opportunity to be on staff with several companies over the years. Lane#1 in 2009, storm/roto grip in 2010, Seismic 2011, C300 2013 till this summer. Plus the other brands I have tried out over the years. Its pretty accurate to state that each brand has a little different roll from one brand of technology to the next brand. Sure they are pretty close In prices from one level of performance to another.the fact that the diamond core produces 20% more energy in gyroscopic energy and helps with better pin carry upon impact. I know for me this makes a big difference. Plus I really like the two piece core balls, for me they roll really well. The diamond core gives me a better feel of the pattern and with the help from Richie on layouts for my style of game really makes a difference. I sho my first 11 or 12 honor scores with lane#1 balls in the first few years.  After that I got a few hear and they with other brands. Sure that could be just a slump I was in and I did have many slumps over the years. I personally feel I have a better chance at scoring better more often when I bowl with this equipment. I already won $500 in the past two weeks just from bowling the sweeper and your sport tournament. So if I was a buying customer then I just made my money back and then some. Sure not every bowler bowls for money. There's not much of a difference between GMC and Chevrolet right? But GMC is a little more and sometimes its not always justifiable in difference in amount. But for some folks if it makes them feel better and it makes them bowl better. Then who are we to say other wise? Also for me the diamond core helps me to read the pattern a little better and I don't always have to move deep with my equipment. It is easier for me to play straighter if I need to with this equipment than I could with other brands. I can blend out the pattern better with my equipment than I could with other brands. Richie does help me a lot with that. Sure some folks have Proshop drillers and other folks on their they can call for help. But ,9 out of 10 folks don't.

I'm not trying to be some super hero or convince anyone that I have some magic ball or something. I respect everyone's opinion and their choice of equipment they use regardless of the price. I truly just want to be the best I can be and help folks along the way. There is so much negative influence in our sport it really makes it hard to keep folks involved and the grow. The sport is diying and theta a fact. I just want to enjoy it while I can.

I hope this helps. Picking a part my last post was just cold blooded. ;)

Question. Has Lane 1 gone the Seismic route and made their staffers sales guys?

For our two proshop locations we have BuzzSaws in them. I do work in the proshop and help sell all brands and accessories. When I am out bowling and promoting Vise and Lane#1 do I suggest things for a customer? you bet, do I recommend finger tape or wrist device for someone who might need hat type of accessory? you bet, do I recommend the proshop where I work out of to customers? do I recommend my coaching to help folks with bowling? you bet.

Everyone is a salesman in life. Either you are selling someone the reason why you don't need something or you are selling them the reason why they do. I push all products from the proshop. Now do I sell online ? NO. would and do I sell our proshop services and equipment to other bowlers in other states? yes.

I hope this helps. Thanks

I don't hear much from Seismic anymore. One of the things being with Seismic was to post on sites like these but I don't read anything new from anyone on staff. Wonder whats going on there.

mmmmm there is no telling on that one. I do know that the constraints on the smaller companies have increased if they pour they product at 900G plant. since storms take over, they tell the smaller companies that half of the cost of production is paid upfront before the production and the other half paid just before its completed upon shipping. minimum order for new pour is 500 balls, a repour is 250 balls. before when it was C300 you could order a different amount of balls and could put some of the cost on credit and pay your bill monthly to the plant etc you had some flexibility.

so Storm is making it really hard for smaller companies to have a chance to even be successful in the market. there are other plants that could be used but that also costs money to transfer data molds , if the plant is willing to give up what they have created already. I am not sure about the rights etc of that part.

Plus when these larger brands started giving away free stuff to a ton of bowlers across the world and called them proshop staffers etc, then that really made it hard for smaller companies to sell their product. because what that did was made the proshop owner push that brand more because they got free stuff. So if I was sponsored by monster energy drink and worked at a store that sold different brands. I would push monster more than another brand, even if I thought the other brand was better. when you get free stuff and told to push it, then why wouldn't you?

so then that puts the small companies in a corner and all they can do is try to find a few good bowlers and nice people to represent their brand and try to sell some products. Nothing wrong with that. All these companies did the same thing when they started out. plus it takes $$$$$$$ to be big in the industry. with pba regional registration between from what I hear 30-40K a year for a company to register their product to be used is really high. So some of that cost goes into the sell of a product to help pay for that. same thing with jerseys and clothes registration its really high. all this effects cost of products.

You might want to ask this site to include the new Lane #1 stuff. There seem to be no listings for the Difference and Dart, so of course there are no reviews in that section either.

And why does Bowing This Month no longer do reviews of Lane #1?

I'll ask the folks at ball reviews if they can create that spot for the new ball. I know the new Hybrid Difference was in this months Bowlers journal. for now its just bowlers journal.
