Lane#1 people...
« on: March 17, 2005, 10:07:30 AM »
I'm looking to buy the Hybrid Dirty  for medium-heavy oiled lanes that do not have flying backends. I think it is my speed because I dont have a ball that will really turn hard without tons of dry. With about medium revs and almost a crankers track (track going less than an inch from the fingers and going left to about 2 inches away from the thumb, i'm right handed) with about 15-16 mph. Other times too, I found my track to be almost parallel to the finger and thumb holes. (almost like a high track). I have not been too successful with drillings lately so i need some help.

I think inverted1 mentioned his drilling on his UI something like 5X4 or 5 1/4 X 4. If i remember correctly, he said that drilling allowed the ball to clear the first 10 ft of the lane effectivly and give him strong midlane read and strong backend. Has anyone drilled up any Lane1 ball similar to this? What I'm looking for is a drilling that will clear at least 10 ft of lane, rev up real hard in the midlane, and have a strong arcing if not snap on the backend. Anyone have a drilling that reacts like stated above? In other words, early roll and big or even max backend out the HDB.

Thanks for any suggestions...

I have an HDB drilled 5x4 with the pin above the fingers . It started as a 3" pin and I love the reaction. It does in fact clear the heads well and gives me a nice smooth arc to the pins.

Sounds like you are on the right track....
