Lane1 Report
« on: June 17, 2006, 10:49:34 AM »
Wanted to try lane1 and the following is a report of what I have found.
The lane1 gurus said the best 1-2 punch would be a Carbide+ and Cobalt. After talking to my driller, he suggested the H2O for drier conditions as he thought the Cobalt would be a bit jumpy for me. The Carbide was drilled stacked leverage and the H2O label. The H2O gave me good length and a strong snap on drier conditions. The Carbide+ was a powerful arc on the heavier stuff. The thing I noticed was the noise created on the pocket strikes. People came down to my lanes and ask what I was throwing! Been a while sense that has occured! I did get some grief about the expense of lane1 balls, but my response was that is why I drive a BMW and not a Volkswagon because I can! Will see how the summer goes and report back later. So far I am a believer!!!!

Be warned though, it is addicting. You'll be buying more balls in the future.

I was hooked the first time I threw my Solid Uranium.
I haven't bought anymore since that one, but that's only because that one ball has filled so many roles.  I'm sure I'll be getting another before fall leagues start and probably won't go back to the other companies.

The last one I bought was the GOLDEN NUGGET! That was one of four that I've owned. I also was impressed by the HIT created by the ball .. BIG BANG! In my opinion the PRICE of LANE 1 makes me IGNORE their products! I'd like to use them but I can't rationalize it when looking at the rest of the balls available! I wish you luck with your picks .. if you are happy that's all that matters!

Welcome, you are right about when the ball strikes the pins, It has a distinctive sound, And for the most part they keep the pins low on the deck, Not throwing them up into the rack, as far as price goes if you buy them right they are no more then any other mfg's balls.
