Repair or replacement.....................
« on: March 05, 2005, 04:07:47 AM »
of my Blueberry. Last night in the 9th frame of the 3rd game the baqll returm apparently scratched my Blueberry pretty badly but it was on the side away from the fingerholes so I didn't notice it till I picked it up for the 10th frame. Now it has 2 deep scratches in it in the shape of a cross and one of the scratches is across my track. Both scratches are approximately 5-7 inches in length and pretty deep---and by deep I mean much deeper than a logo imprint is when it's done. I'm guessing at least 1/16th if not 1/8th of an inch in both scratches.
I have no doubt that the pro shop guy( The Author ) will do his best to fix it.
But if it's not fixable, what would be a good replacement ball?? 16lbs-3 inch pin---unknown top weight--bought it used---pin above and to the right of ring finger---Cg kicked out with a weight hole in thumb positive quadrant. Finish was left in box shape---polished,around 1000,maybe 1200.
Lanes I bowl on are I believe Guardian with light to medium oil and clean backends. After 1 to 1 1/2 games the heads will start to break down and cause me to move deeper. I usually play 25 feet with target being 15 to 10 at breakpoint and move deeper as lanes go away. If they break down too far I'll switch to Uranium Pearl or XXXL.
16-18 MPH ball speed. Medium revs---high track player. Unsure of axis tilt. Use a Pro Release Extended wrist guard.
Thanks in advance to all replies....................

well.. since the blueberry is out of production... you may want to look for something else with the PK 18 cover...  As far as I know, Lane#1 is out of the pk18 cover business (with the exception of the hybrid which is only part pk18).  With that being said, possibly a nemesis bruiser, or a time zone?  rg of blueberry is roughly 2.53 and diff is 0.035.  Nemesis core is a little higher rg and a little higher diff... bruiser core is about the same rg and little higher diff...  time zone core is also higher rg and higher diff... but is assymetrical.

I would say you could get a similar look from any of the three...  layout may need to be a little different to account for core differences...

Who says MAC's never crash?  Word works for less than a minute... Safari isn't much better... and I think last time the Force Quit even crashed...

OMG, I agree with Jabroni. Yikes..!! As Jabs stated, scratches don't hurt the ball as much as you think, even if they are deep. Just keep using the ball until it dies. =:^D
