Last Tuesday night on the league I bowl in nothing was moving, not even my scb. Of course throwing the ball 25mph didn't help much. I took the ball to my spinner, took the surface down to 400 with paper, and went out Weds. night to see the results. Normally I was getting about 4 more boards out of this ball versus my Black Cherry Bomb. After the resurface I could not keep the scb on the lane. Black Cherry Bomb I had no problem keeping on the lane. My question is this. Why do many people prefer to resurface particle balls using scotch-brite, or the Brunswick system versus paper. I understand that particles could be cut down using paper however, I have seen a distinct advantage of using sandpaper with certain particle balls, versus using scotch-brite pads (all 3). Any thoughts or explanations would be appreciated.
