Info Needeed-Polished Super Carbide Bomb
« on: August 24, 2006, 12:35:38 AM »
Looking for some help and info on a ball that I got from ebay. It stated a factory polished SCB.I can't find anything about it on the Lane One site. Can anyone tell me what to expect from this ball? I know the regular SCB was touted as a heavy oil monster. This is suppose to be a 3-4 inch pin and 3oz top weight. Any drilling insite would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

will go a little longer but will still make the turn in the oil.  exactly as it states, a polished version from the factory.  Due to some snafu's with teh ABC at that time, it was banned and then reinstated, as they have no way of telling if it was polished at the factory or not.  treat it as a regular SCB, but remember the surface is polished thus will get a tad longer on heavy oil

Be very careful how you lay it out, as with your speed it will definitely go longer.  Mine squirted through the break-point in box condition, so I sanded it to 600 to take the shine off; I then took my dull SCb and sanded it to 520.  I laid my PSCB out for length, but should have drilled it close to my dull version, which would have made it stronger before dulling.

there was a whole stink about this ball with USBC about this time last year. i do believe the ball is ILLEGAL for sanctioned comeptition.

i do also believe you've been had. IIRC, the ball is either illegal, or never existed according to USBC, therefore making it illegal?

either way, i wouldnt use it.

nope wrong on all acconuts, yes the ball was made illegal, and lane 1 quit selling them, but in order to save face the usbc reinstated it as long as lane 1 discountinued production of the polished version.  the reason usbc reinstated it is because they have no way of knowing if it was polished by the shop or the factory, and yes there are still polished SCB's being sold, in fact i just got rid of my last one not too long ago.  As far as not using it, why?  it is on the approved ball list

No difference between the polished and dull same ball, take the polish off and you have the dull version, And absolutely legal for all USBC Bowling.

.....telling people that they've been had..... saying that, either way, you wouldn't use it. (for no good reason), is bashing a product that you obviously know nothing about.

This is why I never post on this board. I have been around since they split from Eteamz board and all you get is BS. I asked two simple questions and got 18 replies. Triggerman and Sall Mill  had some helpful information and I thank them.

Roy,

Setting the record of legality was not what was needed here, as JJ seemed to already jnow that.  He needs to just ignore the stupid replies and focus on the answers to his questions.  Trig and I answered the question he seemed to ask, but it was after that all the legality comments and USBC junk started, which had NOTHING to do with the thread.  For those that want to set the record straight, start another thread on the "PSCB Record Straightened Out/Explained".

JJ, do not stop posting here, or you can at least PM the few users here that you think could amswer your questions or at least direct you to the right answer.
