Doug, it's exactly the XL that got me in a hesitant state about purchasing Lane 1 equipment. I tried and tried every release possible to get that ball to work right. I guess I'm not the only one to struggle with that piece. It was either too strong for dry or squirly in any amount of oil. I couldn't carry a tissue with that ball.
I'm actually a pretty hi tracker at a 3/4 roller release. I do tend to flip the ball of my hand though....it's just my whole style is irregular so I had a hard time using Lane 1.
On the other hand, the Super Carbide (not bomb) is a true monster for me. I heard from other users that this ball was lame, I wish it was. I can't use it on anything less than the Red Sea. It doesn't play well on wet/dries so it doesn't get used.
Like I mentioned before about the competent driller, I'm having it redone for earlier roll like they should be. What I mean about competent drilling is.....operators should be able to compensate your style with a matching drill to get the best out of the ball.
The price though I find it to be more than what one would want to pay, but if you're willing to experiment with companies, then you have to fork out the dough.
I guess it's all about finding the right piece in their line up, and which I'll agree they will not force equipment to the public. How many websites can you see that only have 9 balls listed for sale??
