So what makes Lane#1 balls good on oil?
« on: February 14, 2006, 11:10:56 AM »
I've heard a lot of compliments about the Lane1 balls on oil handling capacity from respected members here. Is it their cores or are you guys just referring to the Super Carbide Bomb and the Solid Uranium?

Well, the SCB has an ultra high differential and is a high load particle ball.  So, it would tend to handle a large amount of oil.

Perhaps I should rephrase the question Any company can make a ball with an insane particle load but do the diamond or bomb cores have anything over other cores in relation to oil handling potential?

Do we predict another bashing thread here after it gets going with a couple of legitimate replies?

Well there has been a ton of oil out on the PBA tour this year.
If they were so great in oil the majority of the PBA tour players would have been using them instead the top balls for oil out there have been Ebonite The One, Brunswick Strike Zone,Columbia Action,Track Robo Rule,Track Rule Delta 1, Morich Total Shock and Awe, Morich Seek and Destroy, Brunswick Vapor Zone.

Lane # 1 propaganda and most of these hacks out there bowl on house shots that are walled to the hills and have no hand.

Well, you may have a point, not sure, but how could a guy signed with say, storm, use a lane one ball to find out?

Oh man I love the fact that themezz is making Lane#1 the most talked about bowling ball company in the industry.  Good call Triggerman.

Back to the actual topic of the post before it was hijacked, most companies make high-end heavy oil equipment.  I think the genreal nature of the diamond core (or its derivatives) makes for a heavy and even rolling type of reaction.  Couple that with strong brunswick covers and for most people its a pretty good match for heavy oil.  If you are looking for a skid/flip reaction, probably not going to get it with Lane#1 (although they have been attempting it by adding various flip blocks and cover tweaks) and the new cobalt sounds as if it will give a different overall look....

What Strapper said, "heavy, even rolling reaction."  Just what I want on oil, something that rolls hard rather than slides waiting to flip.

Strapper: I couldn't have been said better. Thanks for the articulation.

themezz: As for your following statement:

LOL! Man, get a life. Making this kind of generalization about Lane#1 users is just plain ignorant, and exposes what you're all about. However, I do agree with Triggerman about your entertainment value. Keep up the good work.
