if the pin was longer and you drill a weight hole higher on your val thats inline with your fingers it would work.  That short of a pin the fingers are probably right into the weight block altering the shape.

I agree with Nick, that ball doesnt have a hole at all, so its definately illegal unless it had something messed with up it. I have a Raid with a short pin like that and I couldnt drill it pin over because it would have around 2 oz of finger weight. My gf got a Raid drilled like that with the 1/2" pin drilled over the fingers with no weighole drilled by someone else, I weighed it 3 months later once I noticed and it was 2.1 oz of finger weight...

I will second B-Nick on this one... Is there an extra hole???
I had a mismarked Silver Diamond where the true CG was 3 inches away from the label marking. It looked like that with the CG in the center of the grip..

the pin is on the lane 1 logo... but if you look there is a dot in the center grip area.. maybe the ball was a blem with the logo in the wrong area..

if the cg is truly above the fingers you would need a hole to make it legal..

I had a tsunami that was like that.  Pin was in the logo, and the cg was about 3 inches away from the diamond label.

UNLESS the ball had extra low topweight to begin with. If it had 2 oz. or less beginning topweight, it could still be "legal", even with no x-hole.

 I've seen a few ebonite x-blems drilled this way that had short pins and low topweights.

 If that is the case, it should be a pretty standard pin over drilling with little or no topweight, or perhaps even some bottom weight.


P.S. Was the tsunami a marked mb ball?  I was thinking not.

Agree,  maybe very low top weight...   plus the extra finger weight could have been drilled out by drilling the fingers deeper...
