Massacre red death
« on: September 24, 2009, 01:46:00 AM »
Punched my pre release ball last week, ended up going 70*x5.5x30* a vastly different drilling for myself, this gave me a high pin above ring, left the ball in OOB and tried it last monday for really the first time.  lets just say WOW i did not expect what I saw out of this ball at all.  we run on a 42ft THS its a top hat buffed to about 44 ft decent volume in the heads but a lot of the bowlers still complain that the lanes dry out??  well anyway, threw a few practice shots with it and decided to give it a go.  first game open with a 5 bagger flush next two solid tens strike 8th 9 pin in the ninth and then 3 to close it out.  what surpised me was even in OOB 2k abralon surface this ball made it down lane with ease, it revs hard and just screams off the spot, very angular for a solid and once again that hit I am accustomed to getting from lane 1.  lots of league guys looking to see what it was.  its one of those balls i can watch rev and you see exactly what it is doing.  push it down lane get it to the break and it roars back. by comparision (which isnt much due to pearl vs solid) my epicenter by seismic was 5 boards weaker on the same line,
was able to use the RD all night, with a total of a 5 and 3 move.  easy ball to throw, easy recovery.  I have good speed at the deck (~17.0) and good revs (400+) and this ball responded well to speed and revs, no midlane hook up, no starting early, did exactly what I was looking for, cant wait to try it on a longer pattern, as I think it will really shine.  this ball has already taken the place of my favorite dynamo, at this point I feel it is leaps above the dynamo, will post more once I get some more games on it

for a solid covered ball this peice is fantastic, I havent even went in and put it on the spinner yet (I normally hit all my solids and bring them up to a very nice shine) this ball has not needed it, thrown shots to the weeds and had it comeback, holds the oil line fairly well, and has not shown to be condition specific yet, no loss on carry down (my favorite part of this ball)

shorter longer bigger skinnier, I dont really care this ball is just madness for me

listened to every bowler in the house tonight minus a few complain about the shot drying up, i moved 1 board with my feet, 3 at my target and shot 704 and was extremely disappointed in the set, the ball rolled so smooth and powerful, those ill placed shots by me really did me no favors

my sets with this ball thus far  609-610-626-634-663-704 in that sucesssion, from a 210 bowler.  need i say more about it, oh and the house is changing the shot every week looking for something that will hold up and keep the whiners from complaining

I don't think the core is shorter.  I think that's just the picture of the ball.  I doubt it's an actual representation of the core's length.

But then again I could be wrong?

Roy isn't it still shorter though? The pictures show it as being shorter.

can't really tell from the pics - but the denser flip block is very interesting

This might be a good ball, it's hard to tell until you've thrown it.

Over here in France you have to really insist to be able to get a Lane 1 ball in your hands but one thing that's really putting me off trying is the name.

Where do the research and development crews get these names from?

It might be your thing, having red death in your hands each night, but it just isn't mine.

Why do you care about the name?  If the ball hits, it hits right?

Name and color really matters to you?

At least they didn't rip off Jason Voorhees in the ad for this one.
