A little background first.
Went to practice this morning and wanted to compare the Mega friction and the Red Death if there was enough oil. My first ball out of the bag is a Domination sanded and cleaned. All three bowling balls are drilled extremely close.
First shot on lane 24 the Domination skated all the way down to the 3 pin, very little movement. Lane 23 with the Domination same line 10 out to 8, that is the house shot here, the Domination went Brooklyn and did not touch the head pin. I knew practice was going to be fun. there was three of us practicing.
Back to lane 24 pulled out the Red Death, stood 21 arrows at 10 break point at eight and the ball labored to make it to the head pin, barely. I won't talk about lane 23 any more because the shot was standing on 32 targeting 20 at the arrows fade to about 12 and crush the pocket using a Virtual Energy.
Next time on lane 24, stand 19 play up eight came in a little light but carried the pocket. Next time on 24 used the Mega Friction, seemed to go a little longer came up lighter but still carried. Finished the game with the Red Death and noticed the Red Death started a little earlier but had a noticeable amount more back end. Continued back and forth with the Mega Friction and the Red Death and I probably could have used either ball in the beginning. After we dried the outside a little bit and could move left is when the real difference between the two balls was noticeable. The Red Death swung easier, read the break point very well and recovery was better then the Mega Friction. The Red Death played better with side rotation and I think the Mega Friction played a little better coming staright up the back.
So I think the Red Death is a little more versatile then the Mega Friction, they are both good balls. I polished one of my Megat Frictions and didn't care for the reaction. I have not polished the Red Death and won't because I have only one and I'll try it like this for a while. Before I polish the Red Death, I'll probably get a Blue Death.
Sorry it was so long,
