I bought a NIB Tsunami H20 about a month ago and drilled it as soon as I got it. I haven't had a chance to throw it yet, but I put it in the bag and was planning to use it this upcoming Tuesday.
You know how after you drill a ball, there's often some dust in the thumb hole that the bevel sander left behind? Well, this ball had a little in it, so I cleaned it out. I put the ball down.
Next day, it had more dust. Cleaned that out. Then I started to notice that every time I put my thumb in and out of the ball, more dust magically appeared.
I look down in the thumb hole, and noticed that I had clipped the MB locator pin about 3 inches down in the ball when I drilled the thumb hole. Right where the drill bit had hit the locator pin, there appeared to be a small void half the size of a pencil eraser.
That by itself is nothing special; you hit a pin on a ball, chances are you're going to chip out the plastic.
But it seemed like the dust was coming from that void, and I noticed I couldn't see the bottom of the void.
Well, tonight, I start fooling with the ball and I notice I also feel dust in the ring finger hole. Guess what's next to the ring? The pin, of course, and a couple of inches down, the finger hole had hit it. And, there's a tiny void in that spot.
Now here comes the "Wow" moment: When I blow into the thumb hole, dust comes out of the ring finger hole. Yep, the two voids are CONNECTED INSIDE THE BALL SOMEWHERE.
So here are my options:
1) Throw the ball (I still haven't done this), see what happens.
2) Call the eBay seller and/or Lane #1.
3) Plug the voids as best I can.
4) Cuss the plant that poured this ball for quality control issues.
My big question is, what the he** is going on here?
