Carbide Plus...NIB anyone?
« on: November 03, 2006, 05:08:04 PM »
Is this a bwick cover?  If so, I think this will fit nicely into my arsenal.  Is the core the same as the blueberry or similar?  I have the blueberry, this SHOULD be stronger, correct?

The cover on the Carbide+ is a particle cover. Nothing like the cover from the blueberry, it was PK18. The Carbide+ would be way stronger then the blueberry and would be suited for heavy oil. PM sent.

Does anybody know if the cover is activator plus particle or PK18 plus particle?

Don't fool yourself....the Carbide + is not very strong. The ball Big B ended up producing for Lane 1 was SIGNIFICANTLY weaker than what the initial test balls were from them.

It will pick up the roll quicker than the Blueberry and have less backend but overall I feel the hook will be aboout the same.

I had my C+ drilled the same as my Pearl Uranium (pin over bridge and cg out) and it actually hooked LESS than the pearl Uranium.

My polished carbide plus reminded me of the overall reaction of the blueberry (with the BB having 1000 grit abralon finish)... arcy and smooth.  Both are able to handle a decent volume of oil, but not covering a big number of boards.
