More to the point, Golden Nugget vs Raging Inferno

I wonder how these 2 balls will compare.

Lefty,

As far as I know, both are pearl particle; check the Brunswick website.
Under the coverstock description it says, "Color: Purple Pearl" & "High Gloss Polish", assuming that pearl is not a "color" but that the resin base used was pearlized before they added the particles.

The Golden Nuggest description uses a similar phraseology:
"Color: Yellow Gold Pearl" and "Finish: Highly Polished" .

Clump said the GN had a PowerKoil 17 base.
Brunswick says it uses the Activator coverstock, which is based on PK 18, AFAIK.

Addendum: I know color and appearance are no basis for deciding balls will act alike, but I 'll be darned if the Raging Inferno, in person, isn't the spitting image of and does not have the look and surface feel of my Riot Zone!

The color is 'purple pearl'. The ball is a polished solid I think.

If that's true, then they're both solid, since the same terminology was used with both balls and they're both Brunswick coverstocks.
(I'm inclined to believe they have a pearlized resin base.)

From Bob Hanson's review:

I only have a few games on it but my initial impression is a moderately strong smooth early rolling pearl particle.
