As far as I know, both are pearl particle; check the Brunswick website.
Under the coverstock description it says, "Color: Purple Pearl" & "High Gloss Polish", assuming that pearl is not a "color" but that the resin base used was pearlized before they added the particles.
The Golden Nuggest description uses a similar phraseology:
"Color: Yellow Gold Pearl" and "Finish: Highly Polished" .
Clump said the GN had a PowerKoil 17 base.
Brunswick says it uses the Activator coverstock, which is based on PK 18, AFAIK.
Addendum: I know color and appearance are no basis for deciding balls will act alike, but I 'll be darned if the Raging Inferno, in person, isn't the spitting image of and does not have the look and surface feel of my Riot Zone!

If that's true, then they're both solid, since the same terminology was used with both balls and they're both Brunswick coverstocks.
(I'm inclined to believe they have a pearlized resin base.)
