In the end its all personal experience. Some people have better scores with Lane 1, then storm, track, etc.

For me im going to be getting my first lane 1 ball wednesday which is the Uranium. And if i like it i might stick out with that company, if not ill stick more to track and storm.

All I can tell you about lane 1 is I have a xxxl, their plastic ball. The only pastic ball that I know of that has a core in it. And yeah, it's an awesome ball, that can be used as a first ball on burnt lanes without giving up pin count, as well as a spare ball on all conditions.

So my experience with lane 1 is fantastic.

some people like em some don't , if you are a suitcaser or topspinner , the core won't work well for you. if you can roll the ball and put some hand into it then it may work great for you. they are expensive but small company's tend to be, i won't tell you they are the best ball out there....unless you ask me

For me, as you can see by my name, they are the best company. I have 2 blueberry buzzsaws, a viper, a black cherry bomb, and just bought the uranium today.  Are they worth the price? Depends on what your shop charges. I buy from a shop run by a Lane #1 senior tour rep. This debate is just like with cars, is an acura really better than a regular honda? Depends on who you ask.

Are they the best could be. It is all in who you ask just like if you said the F150 is the best truck out there. It is all up to the person you talk to. For me I will never use a Storm ball ever again. The best ball company that I thought worked for me for a long time was Track. A friend of mine worked for Brunswick and worked out a deal for me for a few of Brunswick's new balls as well as a Lane #1 ball. Right now for me I go to the Buzzsaw first then to my Scream R. With the hitting power I get out of my Buzzsaw I am a believer in them. All I can say is WOW. More messengers with that ball then any other I have ever used.

IEQ is correct. I agree with him 100%. I don't think Lane 1 is any better than any other ball company, but they work well for me.

Hey Frankie,
Jeez just a little over the top????? 10 TIMES BETTER.....if you truly feel that way I can guarantee you've never tried one that fits your style, oops, who knows what that is cuz you don't have a profile.

C'mon....NO CURRENT MANUFACTURER sells a bad product, they are all pretty awesome and good bowlers can find a way to match up with stuff from any company. I currently like some Lane #1 stuff, and some stuff from Storm and some stuff from Columbia.  There have been many (though not recently) balls from Ebonite that I've liked and Track has produced a few that were good for me.

So, I think most importantly figure out what you can do, what lane conditions you see, and what the various offerings are from all manufacturers that fit that profile.  If Lane #1 has one that fits that for you try it, I think that you'll find that it's the smoothest rolling, most predictable ball you could own.

These kind of debates always remind of  kids, “My Dad can whip your Dad”.  Is Lane 1 good equipment, definitely yes.  Is it better than the other companies, it depends.  If you are looking at just the scoring aspect, I have to say no.  If you consider the intangibles like customer service, quality control, longevity of the equipment, etc, I would have to say yes.

If I followed the logic most fanatics’ use I would still be using Ebonite.  My first honor score was with a Gyro I.  Does that mean Ebonite was the best company out there for me.  Since then I’ve shot honor scores with Storm, Track, Columbia & Lane 1.

Right now my arsenal consists of Lane 1, Storm, and Dynothane.  I use the equipment from each manufacturer that lets me stay in my comfort zone.  Personally Lane 1 diamond core doesn’t work well for me, too condition specific.  The bomb core works great though.

IMHO people who limit themselves to one manufacturer are doing themselves as disservice.

SrKegler, I couldn't agree more with you. I think by not trying different balls from the different companies that you are short changing yourself. I know some guys who are totally loyal to one ball manufacturer and their is nothing wrong with that. I myself like to try and dabble with a little of everything when it comes to bowling balls. I have never tried a Lane 1 product and I would not be opposed to trying something from there line of balls. I currently carry bowling balls from Columbia, Hammer, Dynothane, Visionary, Storm, and I just purchased a Brunswick Inferno that I haven't tried yet and I picked up a Brunswick Zone Speed Demon from someone I bowl with on Friday's. Good ball for dry lanes and burnt heads. I just like a variety from the different companies.
