Lane1's future
« on: May 13, 2007, 07:19:18 AM »
What's everyone think?  I figured I'd start a post since Dave didn't have the guts to leave his thread after I made a post questioning his motive.  My guess is that they won't have any luck with the small manufacturers and will probably crawl back to Brunswick hoping Ritchie didn't burn any bridges.

Is this personal or what?

I wish Dave didn't delete his post because then I wouldn't have to try and remember what I sid and re-type it.

I am not going to throw Lane 1 bowling balls if they stay with a BASF coverstock.  I tried two G-Forcs and did not car for either, drilled differently and with different surface preps.

With that said;  I think Ritchie has great knowledge of the bowling ball industry thus knows where Lane 1 a a company is heading.  I also know that Ritchie occasionally reads this Lane 1 forum.  I don't understand why Lane 1 (Ritchie) doesn't take the time to let all the valued Lane 1 bowlers know where their favorite bowling ball company is heading.  Some people think that having a big bamg story will help jump start them again, and though this might be true, I think its time to spill the beans.  I truely don't care what they come out with at this point, becauce I won't be buying any more bowling balls until it gets closer to the bolwing season, but I would like to know where Lane 1 is going to see if I need to look for another company for bowling balls to work with during the latter part of the summer.

That's why I started a new post.  I don't mind locking when a post gets way off track, but when you delete, all the other useful posts go bye-bye also.

I'm sure Lane1 values it's customers, but I highly doubt they are giving away any true inside information.  By the time they tell a customer a "fact", they have already or are about to spill the beans anyway.  You might find out about a new ball a few days ahead of some others, but testers often leak info early anyway.  ANY company would be crazy to leak substantial information regarding their future before the deal is done and signed.

First, why does anyone NEED to know what is going on?  If you love a company so much, wait and trust that they will make the best decision for both the company and their customers.

Second, if you let out information too soon, the deal is likely to blow up.
