or a weak drilled H2O (I have on drilled stacked and this ball is a monster on med to dry lanes... very hard to controll on real dry lanes!)

If you can keep your speed down, the XXXL would be a good choice.
The Bullet may also fit the bill. It does not need much oil at all to allow it to skid quite a way.
As for a Tropical Storm, I find it to be very similar to the Bullet, but the Bullet definitely hits and carries much better. That said, a bad day can be made worse by both of these balls if you are dealing with over/under and/or an inconsistent release.

the difference between the two and the reason I say the bullet for true dry conditions is that is exactly what you need for the bullet to even wrinkle bone dry.
The XXXL on the other hand you can use on anything from dry to light conditions.
And I know this sounds funny but from my experience with both this is what I have seen and I know it makes no sense

How much oil is there on the outside of the lane? When you said down the 8-10 board I am assuming you are talking straight down the 8 or 10 board without swinging it? Have you tried your Vertigo with a small 10-5 swing, keeping your speed slow? What happens when you do this. Personally I would try a solid reactive or particle pearl. I love my Enriched Uranium and Supernova when my reactive pearls are over/under but my solid reactives are hitting weak. It might not be worth anything but that's my 2 cents

Ask a Pro Shop driller to watch you throw a couple balls & explain to him what you have tried & what you are trying to do. Just a few suggestions. Good luck.

Uranium HRG with pin over bridge and cg swung out 1" from stacked.
H2O Pearl drilled pin 1" from PAP with mass bias under thumb
Polished Tsunami drilled like the H2O

So I don't understand how to drill the Tsunami this way and expect a good performance on a dry shot as it still is a solid and might bleed off too much energy for a good carry...
As I am not a pro yet a driller etc... I might be terribly wrong but from my experience even my polished Tsunami is bleeding off too much energy on drier lanes for me (tweener)

First....Laying the pin over near the PAP will set the core down so the Tsunami core and H2O core will react VERY similarly.
Second...The Tsunami has a solid coverstock but it's a fairly weak solid coverstock. Solid covers tend to be smoother reacting that pearl covers. So they will have less snap to them and more arc. On a very dry condition the snappy balls have issues while solids tend to work better.
Your experience with the H2O and Tsunami could very well be due to a mismarked mass bias as Brunswick put out a whole slew of Tsunamis and H2O's with mismakred mass biases.

and I have to agree.
Don't want to hijack the topic... just to mention:
My Tsunami was my "learn to bowl with" ball... os it never was layed out for me as you describe it... my PAP has changed since then and so has my style
My H2O has the same pin position but stronger MB as I was afraid to lay out the ball too weak. Both are layed out strong from the pin position and the difference in MB position brings both balls very close to each other as my Tsunami is tamed a bit and the H2O is more aggressive.
Very good for me as I don't bowl "outside" of my local center that often..
So if I need more lenght with a nice pop I use the H2O and when I want a smooth arc I use the Tsunami.. adjusting with style to make the carry perfect.
I see a point putting the Pin in the PAP but still I think the Tsunami is too strong for real dry lanes. But the definition of a "dry lane" is another thing
MY suggestion still is the H2O with a weaker layout for real dry lanes or an XXXL. The H2O is smooth compared to other Pearl balls that I have seen... as far as I rememeber it is the Pearl Hybrid Radioaktive18 which is another PK18 offspring... But I am not sure about that
Nevertheless the Tsunami is a great piece! No doubt!
It is the definition of smooth imho and for others with another layout it might be exactly what one wants for a dry lane. For me not with the label drill I have (MB position not negative!)
