"Woe is me......"
« on: October 23, 2003, 08:46:00 PM »
......This indecision is making my head hurt! Picked up yet another glorious Blueberry Buzzsaw. I am looking to combat late set carrydown and here is the query. A 3by5 with polish works pretty well on carrydown w/ me moving my line to the right. Cons= stone 10 pins and a mildly inconsistent reaction, plus, I dont really like throwing a "down and in" type shot. So, I am thinking maybe a 5by5 with a 1200 sanded cover or maybe even a slight shine. Truth is, I dont really know how much difference there will be between the two drills. Can anyone comment?

I'm not certain of the difference, but I plan on laying out my Blue Berry in a 4x3 pattern to combat carrydown.  I may even dull the ball down some depending on how bad the over under is.

The only ball I had a 5x5 polished up was very even and smooth.  It also produced minimal flare unless I tore the cover off and threw it 3.5 MPH.

Why don't you consider a CG out pattern to get the Blue Berry in a roll earlier??

Thanks for the suggestion A_P_K. Drilled it yesterday but went with a 5by5 with CG on the midline. Shined it just a bit. I am very impressed! It pops pretty hard on fresh oil but has a nice smooth, mild move on carrydown. Just what I was looking for. I do believe my third game slump has come to an end!

My Blueberry has a 3 1/8" Pin and is drilled 4 x 3 with the Pin beside and barely to the top of ring finger and is excellent on carry down as well as other conditions. It will handle light to medium oil, polished and..... medium to medium heavy wet sanded to 800 grit and no polish. Also both carry down and dry back-ends on these oil cinditions. Have not had any heavy oil to try it on yet. You seldom see heavy oil in the two houses I bowl at...To sum it up, on a 4 x 3 drilling, you can use it on about anything.

In the old days, they used axes to chop up wood...Nowadays, they use "BUZZSAWS".
