the ball looks great,i will drill and test it tonight and post my comments tomorrow...the layout will be pin under and cg out...pin is 2-3 and it has a 3.2 oz top weight......should be a nice smooth rolling ball...

scottie,

I went with a 5 x 3 pin under bridge, and this ball outhooks almost all the balls I have.

cg outs have worked well on the Uranium series for me in the past and for many of my customers, I have drilled many of them this way.

Did your ball come with a spec sheet?  The way the ad reads, it appears that it has the original Uranium core, so presumably the RG and diff are the same as the other Uraniums.  Is that the case?

i dont think ill ever understand how people bowl so well out of the box.
for me personally, i dont start to do well with a ball until it gets tracked in.

Is this ball a replacement for the pearl/solid? Or a new ball for the Uranium line?

I would say it is an addition, not a replacement. The original uranium is a pearl resin, the second a solid resin, & this one has different pearl cover with light load particles added.(3%)

its an addition to the uranium line i believe, so apart from the cover stock being tweaked, i trust the core etc is the same....noting megamav comments, some buzzsaws for me match up so well no matter the shot..dirty bomb 754 out the box, tsunami 740 out the box, and then i can struggle with some saws for ever...golden nugget and cranberry were always tough for me.....i have a friend who will only use black raspberries, where for me they have never worked that well...
for me its also the house shot i'm playing..if its dryish, i can play where i'm really comfortable, and hoof the ball down the lane, if its oily, i tend to tighten up and not score so well.....
anyway, i'm sure you will all be shooting big numbers with the new uranium..i wanted that 300 bad last night with the brand new ball..there is always tonight's league....

Good luck tonight Scottie! Keep us posted on how the ball works. I have mine ordered.(I'm not as lucky as you) I opted for longer pin & higher top & planning to drill 1:30 label. Hopefully I will have mine before Christmas.

Why don't they have this on the USBC approved list yet? Or am I just missing it?

Scottie,

You are the same speed as me, and I would suggest a 4x4 or 4x3 1/2 layout, which would put the pin approximately at 2:00 to the ring.  This is my FAVORITE layout for most of my stuff, especially since I need the extra strength due to my speed disguising my rev rate.

I plan on using this ball behind my SCB and before my Pearl Uranium.

I too have my EU on order (should ship Monday). I already have the solid and pearl, so it will be interesting to see how this one fits.

I really don't care if there is overlap. The Uranium is my favorite ball in the Lane#1 line, and I could probably get by with nothing but them. I finally got my head out of my "arse" and started using my solid in league, and the results have been phenomenal. I shot a 300 two weeks ago, and shot my first sanctioned 800 last night. In the month I've been using the solid, I've averaged 240+, and the condition isn't pretty.

Anyway, kudos to Lane#1 for expanding the Uranium line, which are the best balls on the market.
