Enriched Uranium really that strong?
« on: May 10, 2006, 05:42:18 PM »
I recently drilled up a EU (1:30 Label) and I got to say I havn't found enough oil to trully roll this ball.  It is so damn strong.

I am using it in heavy or long oil patterns.

What lane condition do you guys use it on?"

I have mine drilled 1:30 label too, BUT, and I say that loudly, I could NEVER use it on even medium to oily stuff.  I use mine on the lighter side of medium to light.  You will notice my speed is high, and even though I have decent revs, my speed reduces the EUs hook, but I do not see the "strength" that some have seen.

Saw Mill,

Try removing the oob shine by using green scotch brite
and run it once in Brunswick polishing machine. It worked
wonders for my EU.

Retro,

I believe the green scotch brite is around 600 grit.
After removing the OOB shine, I bowled a game on medium oil
and found that it dies in the backend. A lot of energy was spent
in the front and midlane. After 1 run at polishing machine,
I got the reaction I wanted.

Roy, you are right green scotchbrite is 600, But if you have plenty of head oil and mid lane oil, this ball has a nice backend reaction even on a little carrydown in the back

My EU is drilled stacked, when i first got it the ball was a little to over/under for me so I hit it with a green scotch brite too. That worked great, but then went to a tournament that was going to have a very dry shot so I throw it in the luster king. Was way to strong for the tourny! Now back on the oilier THS that I bowl on it is stronger then before! Talking 10 boards stronger! I was shocked to see that. The balls hooking so hard on the backend and through the pindeck the balls almost taking out the ten pin on a pocket hit! I've never seen that before. Sucks in away cuz I'm leaving 8 pins on crushing hits! Guess thats better then that 7 pin!!!

i have had no problems using mine on heavy oil just comes down to speed really. When i bowled the states couple of weeks ago when everyone elses ball went straight my eu broke to the pocket but i did have to slow it down a touch. Thats what i have found.

It is stronger than my Absolute Inferno, which is drilled the same.

My EU is a great ball for fresh, heavier oil patterns.

Funny how I hear very different things.

I actually polished it with 3M finesse and I love the reaction.
