--- I've got a question for you.  About 4 - 5 years ago I drilled a Super Carbide Bomb for the best bowler in our center, label leverage.  He loves the ball and has averaged 220 - 230 with it ever since.  But the house is putting out a little more oil and an easier pattern now and the young studs are catching up with him.  He would like a ball with a similar reaction shape, but overall just a little stronger and better carry.  I drilled a Black Widow for him last year, but it's too jumpy for him to use in our house most of the time, but he does use it some in tournaments.  What do you recommend for him?  He's a stroker, high 3/4 roller, medium revs but great accuracy.  He can throw the ball anywhere between about 14 and 18 mph (controlled and consistent) on Qubica.  Thanks  --  JohnP

Sounds like an AO at 2000 with some beans sauce on it would do him well. Drilled pin up (over ring), 4 x 4. If he is a stroker like you say, surface adjustment will be key, but the AO will definately work.

JohnP: I own the Super Carbide Bomb (still going strong), and I can understand your customer wanting something similar. In the Lane#1 line, from my experience, the BuzzBomb should do the trick. I find my BuzzBomb just a hair stronger but with similar reaction to the SCB.

I don't have the new Dynamo, so I can't personally provide a real world comparison on that piece.

Kid: The Cell can't compete with either the SCB or BuzzBomb on heavier oil. There are better non-Lane#1 choices if that's the direction he ends up going.

CGsSuk,  If I was to post,  I would first ask if the house he bowls in has widen their lanes by 5 boards.  If so, then I would recommend the dynamo.  It's the ball of the year you know

By since I have not posted,  there will be no need to ask if the house has widen the lanes by 5 boards.

Well if your house is smart, they will wait till next month's Lane 1 hook monster comes out.  Then they can widen the lanes by 10 boards.

So the center is putting more oil? Is'nt that what the Super Carbide Bomb is for? More oil?

Yes, it is, but remember that this ball probably has 1000 - 1500 games on it.  He takes good care of his equipment and removes the oil regularly, but it seems to have lost some of the "pop" it used to have.  Just in the last week he has decided to move in deeper, to around the 13 - 15 board with the Black Widow and swing the ball.  Since making the change he's averaged around 240.  His comfort zone has been around the second arrow, down and in, and he can play that with the SCB, but has had trouble with corner pins.  So this is a fairly large move for him, and I believe it will improve his overall game in the long run.  --  JohnP

Supernova(particle), knock the polish off puting it at 1000 grit sanded. He will get that extra pop back playing up the boards and the carry is quite impressive.
