Title: OK, I admit it...
Post by: bigearv14 on March 26, 2007, 04:20:47 PM
I was the person who said that these balls were overrated...I just got a Uranium HRG in a trade...279-216-267=762 on my first series with it...very strong on the backs and very controllable...maybe looking to grab some more of these...any recommendations??

In my use so far, you can't go wrong with any of them. The Dirty Bomb is a must have, and a Solid Uranium too. My 10 pin % has gone WAY up since getting my Red XXXL too.

I was thinking about getting a Cobalt Pearl and maybe a heavy roller like a G-Force or Cobalt Solid...

Enriched Uranium is a great ball as well.  Don't forget about the Tsunami either.

And what if it's sheer coincidence, which is very likely these days?

Try a used, less expensive basic Lane#1 with a completley different drill and intended for a completely different oil pattern; so that, if it proves equally efficacious, (that is, you shoot another 750+ with an entirely different ball), then you will be RELATIVELY sure you have a true winner on your hands.

Anyone care to debate the truth of that scenario??????

Saying a ball is overrated doesn't mean it isn't any good. I liked all 3 of mine, but I still think there stuff is overrated.

I would go with the G-orce for heavy roller, with the two new Pearls as compliments.

My G-Force drilled label, with the MB left of the thumbhole, actually picks up sooner than my Solid Uranium on the same line.  My Solid Uranium covers about 3 more boards at the back, but gets about 3-4 more feet of length.  Solid U is also drilled label, but has a 4.5" pin vs. a 3" pin on my G-Force.

Both excellent choices if you want something that rolls pretty heavy.

And the Tsunami is the best true medium ball I have ever thrown.

+1 for the Tsunami.

It comes back off a free THS with no oil rings. It's like it repels oil :
I left it in my car with my Cobalt Pearl, and the Pearl was dripping. The Tsunami didn't have anything on the cover stock. Granted the Pearl has a 10 to 1 ratio on games used, but damn.. the Tsunami is hard to break in.

Which for me is good. I use it to cross boards when the shot calls for it. Snaps hard, hits hard. Awesome ball.
