it is going to take me some time to get used to it, but this ball is a total handful.i think i found the pocket flush about 3 times my first game and every time, ten in the pit. the ball hooks more than anything in my bag by far. should i put a small weight hole in the PAP and try to tame it down some? i was wanting to use it for a wider array of conditions, not just the floods. i used it in a medium house and i was releasing the ball over the 3rd arrow to 6, and it would still find an excuse to go brooklyn.

not the ball in most houses around here if I hit 6
with a Target Zone it is coming back brooklyn.
Play a tad more direct with the ball. 15 to 12 and I bet
it does not come anywhere near the pocket.

I second that, the emerald is not that aggressive and if you think it will be  flood ball you are gonna be upset when you have a 10 pin ball and nothing to really throw

He, he, he(Crank). I too, found the Emerald to be pretty weak. Weak, until I scuffed it with a bit-o-ScotchBrite. That thing started hooking at the top of my backswing! Adios Emerald. LOL!

a more direct line makes it miss the headpin. as soon as this thing finds dry, it turns. period. i was playing 3rd arrow trying to give it more oil to eat before it hit the dry at 38'. well, i am going to throw it on my tuesday night and see how it does. that place sucks, its like bowling on ice. their version of a house shot is everyone elses sport shot, gutter to gutter. grrr.

c'mon curly that thing got down the lane if you threw it! quit fluffin! nah just kiddin with ya, it really is a whole different ball when its scuffed. I thought it was the answer to your berry-blues, just about the same deal when it was dull, O and its pretty(tim needs to find more manly expressions!)

mine is pretty clean, a 1600 grit finish. i am afraid to even let sandpaper within 3 feet of it!

took it to the 'oil shot' tonight. they had a lovely reverse block for our LEAGUE play. it was a new experience. anyways, luckily this thing cleared the heads. i let it drift to the oil on 8-9, and it would come back hard once it found the 40' mark. over 20 to 8 and back for a money shot. is the emerald supposed to be for such heavy oil? i am now STRONGLY considering drilling out 1/2 oz. in the PAP.

Don,
  If you get this message before this evening then great. If not, I'll pass it on when I get to the center. Anyway, first thing I would do BEFORE I took any weight out is polish the ball with a different grit. This may help get the ball down the lane further. Secondly, try a couple of different hand positions and/or releases for different lane conditions. The Emerald is a great ball but like all balls, takes a little experimenting with to find it's place in your arsenal. If none of this meets your satisfaction, then I would consider a little weighthole. See ya this evening.
