Does anyone know what the out of box surface of the Cobalt Solid in terms of abralon?
-
I don't know what the out of box surface is, but I have mine at 500 grit with an Abralon Pad and polished with Brunswick Factory Gloss Polish and it has replaced my EU as first ball out of my bag, except on stripped and newly oiled lanes with clean back ends. Then I will start with the EU and switch to the Solid Cobalt as soon as the carry down begins.

zeusjr...Abralon doesn't come in 600 grit. It comes in 180, 360, 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 grits.

Shhhhh.... Sorry force of habit...
I almost never use sand paper, so I'm just used to saying Abralon.. LOL
I should know better since I just resurfaced mine a few weeks ago..

A green Scotchbrite Pad is 600. I think Lane 1 told me one time to sand to 800 with a Gray ScotchBrite Pad and polish, but I chose 500 Grit Abralon and polish instead and it worked great for my style.
