Liberator VS. the XL's?
« on: January 18, 2008, 03:16:04 PM »
What is going to be the difference between the new Liberator, and the XL and XXL? Those both were urethane as well. Just wondering what is going to be different, if anything.

The XL was pearlized resin, not urethane, and I believe the XXL was a pearlized urethane blend.  The XL gave a much more skid / snap than the Liberator will, and the Liberator should start up sooner then the XXL, but with a smooth controllable hook down the lane.

Maine is correct about the XL, but the XXL was all urethane. But boy did it have a wicked backend. Way to much for a urethane ball. The new Liberator seems to have that classic urethane roll to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_JWt-DGlcs You can check it out here. =:^D

T-God, I thought the XXL was a pearl urethane?  Am I wrong about that one?  I know the XXL gave a sharp break for a urethane ball, but for some reason I could swear it was a pearl urethane and not a solid like the Liberator.

Maine, you are correct in your assumption. I didn't say it was a solid, just all urethane. The ball was a pearl, so I just thought you'd see what I said as a pearl urethane.

I was confused when you said "blend" and figured you meant a blend of urethane and reactive resin. I think we're both on the same page now.

Have a good one, it's time for night night..!! =:^D

I was able to throw the XXL yesterday. Just so happend, the pair we were on were like night and day. Lane 19~ used the Bite, and the oil seemed long already, or early carrydown. Lane 20~ used the XXL playing straight up the boards.

Struck everyball on 20 w/the XXL, and lane 19 played really squirty with everything else. But what I did find was, I'm able to play right where I wanted to with the XXL, and it does combat the backend overreaction I get with stronger balls.

If I start to get a bigger backend snap, and it's too jumpy, I could always take the surface down to smooth it out a bit too I guess. Looks like a great ball for what I wanted it for. I love it when that happens.
