Original C/2 core MIA
« on: February 15, 2005, 07:28:39 AM »
I just wanted to throw this out there & see if there is any buzz on this.

It seems that the C/2 is missing in action from the lane#1 line up now, and I have to wonder why. IMHO I have yet to find any core that matches up to my game better. The monsters from big B are close, but nothing provides me with the same predictability.

Come on lane#1, if you really want to make a splash, bring back the C/2 in a "Value series" ball line. Since it isn't being used anywhere else in your lineup you'll still have the ability to "upsell" to the flashier cores. And now that you've got the activator cover in most of your lineup, there's nothing wrong with using pk/18 as a "value" cover.

I guess I'm just crabby because my Pink Raspberry gave up the ghost, and I can't seem to find another C/2 PK18 ball that I can afford right now.

Anyone else like to see a value series with the c/2?

Keep looking the black raspberry and blueberry can be had just be persistant.  I would bet a call to lane #1 could net you one of these from a distributor, or from a shop.  i know they are slightly different then the pink, but the black, I felt was a real close attempt at it, the only think I can figure is the slight variations that brunswick probably used in its formulations on pk18.  I would bet there are NIB floating around.  and if you have not tried, check with drillwizard, he typically has some older stuff around

I totally agree with you that the pink is pretty much the same as the blue & black, but as for all of the above, they're awful tough to find for a reasonable price. As much as I love the balls, I can't bring myself to pay that much for them.

That's why I think Lane#1 would see a boon in their business if they brought it back. And since it doesn't appear anywhere else in their line right now, and almost all of their other balls have lots of new technology in them (bomb cores, activator covers, etc.) this would be a perfect time for them to introduce a "budget" series & get people to try Lane#1 for the first time. Once they see the joys of the c/2 I can almost promise you they will be willing to buy other "premium" lane#1's.

I would be all over a "budget" line involving the C2 cores.  Since I am a fairly recent convert to Lane #1, I never had the opportunity to get a C2 while it was in production.  I am someone with a bit of an addiction when it comes to buying bowling balls, I fully admit it.  My 1st Lane #1 ball was the Super Carbide Bomb.  I missed everything previous.  I now have both Uranims and both Dirty Bombs as well, but let me add my voice to the mix: Bring back the old stuff at a decent price and I'd gladly buy 2 or 3 at a time!

When Lane#1 discontinued the C2 cores used in the Pearl Cherry and Blueberry I stopped using Lane#1 because the BOMB cores did not match up to my game at all.  BRING BACK THE PEARL CHERRY (separated mini-diamond nuggets) AND BLUEBERRY (stacked mini-diamond nuggets) CORES!!!

While I agree with you that these are great cores and wouldn't mind seeing them again especially something like a cherry pearl C^2 but with activator, I would suggest everyone posting this on the lane#1 forums on their website since I know Mr. Buzsaw "Ritchie" definitely browses those forums and I am not so sure if any actually employed by Lane#1 browses these.  Try posting there if enough people post this idea you might see something happen Lane#1 is very loyal to their users.

Only Lane#1 ball (The Raspberry) I would want, at this point. Might not care too much for the pink one. Blue or black would be just fine; would pay as much as $100; beyond that, nope.

(Have undrilled Golden Nugget; just waiting for the right lane condition ..)
