Thank you Roy and Triggerman for your help with the Dynamo information.

Its amazing how asking a question about a ball and trying to keep it on topic only gets several responses and 200 hits of being read while a garbage post gets 67 responses and read over 2100 times.

What does this really say about the FOS?

Doug,

One thing: Don't forget your XP has the Fusion core, not the Diamond. Doesn't seem to be much difference but there is one.

I've just now started figuring out the XP after a few months of ownership and ended up bowling my highest series of the half with it Tuesday. I basically have to treat it like I used to throw my old Storm X-Factor when its cover was still fresh. The 900Global covers are much more angular than the Brunswick covers were, and for that reason I've started to sprinkle in some Visionary, Brunswick and older gear in order to get a different look.

Nicanor, I'll tell you about the Dynamo -- when I get one. (g) I'm going to get a Chainsaw next month and that will probably be it for me until summer leagues get here, and I want to try the Agent Orange first.

The BB didn't match up at all for me, the AO is much better but in my opinion, the Dynamo will bring back all the ex Lane#1 bowlers. I have no regret selling my AO and getting a Dynamo.

I agree Jess...I loved my SuperNOva XP and regret selling it....somebody on here bought it actually <g>....had the pin under ring and cg out a bit with a 1-2" pin. Gave me a nice smooth reaction to the hole that would still kick the 10 without fail. Man I miss that ball :-(

I am going to try another Dynamo....from what I am hearing out and about it seems to be the second coming of the Black Raspberry but on steroids this time.

that is my Gods honest opinion doug, it is clean up front and retains a ton on the back end, carries the world my only problem is if i get to wide it is way too strong of a move and i will wrap tens all night long, if i chase the oil line and let it play there, it is incredible, 4k with ebo factory refinisher to a very nice gloss, and i can still throw this on out 41 ft med heavy pattern and not worry about it no over under, just a smooth hard charge off the dry

pin in ring cg stacked no weight hole, took fingers and thumb deep

works out to a 50 x 4.5" x 35 drilling or very very close to that (my fav)

I never see an over under or squirty look, it doesnt like short oil per say unless you go way deep, my last foray on short oil

I agree with a couple of you....I have had trouble getting my Dynamo dialed in.  I think it will  be fine, I just need to get the surface just right.  What does worry me is that the original Buzzbomb did not agree with my game at all.  I wonder if maybe its just the first gen of a ball line that maybe needs tweaking.

On the topic of 900 Global, I have had tremendous success with the Evolution and the Supernova lines.  I love the twisted diamond core and would love to see it the THS coverstock.

I would like to see another plain diamond core, but I doubt we will for awhile....unless they do a Pearl Liberator....

Anyways, just wanted to chime in on this....

Great post, guys.  And, love all the info, Doug!  I  couldn't agree with you more.

Personally, I switched the bulk of my arsenal to Lane #1 in late 2007 and haven't looked back since.  Do I see a difference in reaction between the Brunswick poured SAWS to the Columbia and 900 Global SAWS?  Absolutely!  And I think that there are many Lane #1 supporters out there that still prefer the reactions of their old SAWS compared to the new ones.

My favorites are the Black Cherry Bomb (Modified RICO layout) and the Enriched Uranium (4 1/2" X 4 1/2" stacked - no X-hole).  Of the new balls, I didn't mind the BuzzBOMB, but the Agent Orange is better AND the NEW Dynamo is an absolute BEAST!  I still have it in box condition and will likely have to put some polish on it because it just hooks too much!

As a pro shop owner / operator myself up here in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada,
I like trying out new equipment, not just new SAWS!  Having said that, I really think that Richie and Lane #1 are heading in the right direction in their relationship with Phil Cardinale and 900 Global.  The coverstocks are getting better and I think the Hurricane core will be a winner.  Can't wait to see it in a pearl version......wow, that should be a backend monster!

To close, I have a question to Doug Sterner and Triggerman and anyone else who may be able to respond to this one......

In the 900 Global lineup of coverstocks, which are the ones that were used on the recent Lane #1 balls?  Richie from Lane #1 responded to me a while back on a few of them, but I'd like to fill in the few gaps that I have.

G-Force Solid - Detonator, which was the Columbia M80
EVO, Nebula, Supernova Solid, Teal THS and BuzzBOMB/R - Bleeder, which is the
the tried and true, Superflex cover
Supernova XP - Explosion Pearl (XP), which I understand was Richie's own
                               formulation with 900 Global
Liberator - BUD Urethane, does this mean this is the same formulation as was
used on the original Columbia Black U-Dot?
BuzzBOMB & Agent Orange - Pure Grip....what's this in the 900 Global "S" rating?
Chainsaw - Skid / Hook.................what's this in the 900 Global "S" rating?
Dynamo - Category 5....................what's this in the 900 Global "S" rating?

Thanks a bunch in advance, guys!  Keep up the great work.

Regards,

George

Well George, I'll take a stab at it....

Chainsaw....I am guessing it's the solid cover from the Creature solid (S30)

BuzzBomb...I think it's very close the cover on the original Break (S70).

Agent Orange....can't help you here....IMO it's stronger than any Pearl 900 G is using

Dynamo....based on the rate of oil absorption I saw on mine I'd be willing to bet it's a version of Phil's soaker.

I wish we could find out if the Dynamo is a soaker, because I am a nut for cleaning and keeping fresh surface on my equipment, and I was told that you really do not want to do this for about 30 to 50 games with the soaker covers because they will get even better after they are "primed a little"

After throwing this ball a while I might tend to agree with you Pakman.  It seems to be be a soaker coverstock.

here is my take
I have some 80 games plus on mine, I polished it out of box, my cleaning is wipe the ball down before each throw with a microfiber towel, that is it, ball is as strong or stronger today as when i first punched it up, I have seen no loss of reaction, no squirty on the backend, just a strong rolling angular ball

OK, cool I will just resist the urge to mess with it too much for a while and see what happens.

I agree with Triggerman.....my 16 lb Dynamo is still in box condition and I always wipe the ball after every shot with a micro fibre towel.  It really works well.

I have a 15 lb Dynamo on the way as well which I will polish @ 4000 Abralon.
To be honest, the Dynamo is one of the best oil balls I have ever used.  The Category 5 coverstock is very very aggressive......not sure what it is in the 900 Global lineup of covers, but I'm assuming it has to be at least a version of their S75 cover.
