PBA experience with Buzzbomb
« on: May 13, 2009, 02:22:41 PM »
First night tonight in my PBA experience league.

Chameleon pattern.

Threw my Buzzbomb in all four games.

Shot in the low 200s in all the first three games - I'm just starting to think that PBA shots are easy and that I am a bowling guru - when I shoot 150 in the last game.....

Made a 192 avg on the night.

Buzzbomb was a honey. I had loads of area and the BB saved me on more than a few bad balls. Some of the guys said i had so much area it was like I was bowling on a house shot.

It was probably too much ball for some of the spares in the last game. I went deep left playing the third arrow - I left the 2,4,7 a few times and chopped the 2 every time. Might need to rethink the last game and change to something tamer - at least for left side spares. I'm thinking maybe my nebula - any thoughts sawheads - what would you throw on a broken down chameleon shot?

My BB made this sorry house hack look almost decent.

First off I would suggest throwing straighter(plastic) at your spares. you get on some of the other PBA patters Cheetah comes to mind trying to hook at left side spares you will get some nasty suprises. I learned that one the hardway throwing my xxxl but without taking all the hand out of it really messed me over(couldnt make a spare) now I have fixed many of the issues and want to get back on those patterns.

Couldn't agree more with the comment about Cheetah.  I just bowled my first time ever PBA league Thursday night and it was on the Cheetah pattern.  Wow the backend on this pattern was way greater than the THS I have bowled on.  I had a good look with my Massacre but I over hooked at a couple of spares throwing my plastic spare ball at two 4 pins live and learn.

For corners and single pins I couldn't agree more. But my prefered way of picking up a washing line on the left (2,4,7) would be to move 5 boards to the right and play the ball brooklyn (THS) - just couldnt figure out how to adjust for the chameleon. Plastic is an option - but I think a ball thrown with some hand for a three in a line spare is always safer then a straight ball.

I use to think that it was better to hook at that spare or the 3,6,10 but have had more success in not chopping off or leaving a pin when I throw the plastic spare ball.  Just what has worked for me.

Good Luck on figuring it out!
