Pearl Uranium Replacement
« on: November 01, 2007, 05:02:08 AM »
Looking for recommendations for eventual replacement of my Pearl Uranium. I hate to even think about it, because in the 3 years I've had it, the ball has paid for itself several times over. In league, I just shot a 289-290-225 with it -- it's an incredible control piece to have.

Just wondering if the Supernova XP is close, or if it will be more skid/flippy. Looking for input from anyone who has thrown both. Thanks.

Sorry Steven, I really cant see another ball replacing the Pearl Uranium.
I have one myself, its a little too strong for my taste, but has its place.

Cores in the current ball line are of significantly higher RG, and the Columbia coverstocks are not close in reaction to the Brunswick ones.

You may be better off trying to track another one down rather than trying to force matchup a ball in the current line that really isnt similar at all.

I was thinking the XP would be a close fit. I expect it to be a little more angular off the break, but I have had good luck adding a touch of surface to tame the flip. My XP should be here this week, so I will report back soon with a comparison.

Unless they went back to brunswick and redid them EXACTLY like the old ones I don't ever see a ball replacing mine. I hope to someday find a good 14 pounder to use but I will never ever sell the first one I bought, I can pick it up and within 2 shots know where to go and what to play if it does not work..

It has been plugged several times but has low games. It is currently plugged and ready to drill.

It has a 2-3 pin.  beans
