Picking up a Supernova...question regarding layout
« on: October 08, 2008, 05:44:04 AM »
As subject states, my Supernova will be here soon. I want to try layout A on the Supernova. I have this layout(A) on my C300 Wrath DF. I get excellent length, control and power. I'm wondering if this pin above bridge/cg out layout will give me a similar reaction with the Supernova. This will be my first Lane#1 with the Diamond core, that's why I want to do some research before I drill it up. I also have a Buzzbomb with layout B, which I don't really like.

Layout A
---p---
--0-0--
-------
-----cg
---O---

Layout B
-------
--0-0--P
-------
--------cg
---O---

I had a very similar layout, smooth, decent length (the ball takes to surface changes nicely even tho it is a particle solid) read the mids great with no over reaction with that drilling, oil pattern length didnt seem to matter a whole bunch either, I could throw it on 37 foot house shot all the way to a 42 house shot.  found the ball to be really good kissing the oil line, but it would come back big time when bounced off the outside, great control peice with that drilling on it

Guess I'm also trying to decide with pin over bridge+cg out, or pin over ring and cg slightly out.

Help!

knowing your pap will help us to decide how strong a pin over bridge vs a pin over ring will be for you

I have mine drilled pin under ring, slightly to the right with the cg kicked out.  So cg leverage drill.  I am a higher speed player (I think I am slower now, was about 17-18mph) with a bit lower revs (280, maybe more now that I am a little slower).  I remember first throwing it, my driller remarked at how the ball just keeps rolling strong.  It didn't die out when it hit the dry, just rev'd up, and kept rev'n

I know that I get plenty of length from the ball.

I have mine drilled layout A and it is a solid easy rolling, hard backend layout.  Works great on most conditions.  Would recommend

Or should I go nuts and drill it stacked??? I have a original Momentum drilled stacked, pin right of RF.

Would the Supernova be hard to handle with a stacked layout?

Okay, I think this my PAP from a good while ago: 5 3/8, 1/4 UP.

Any recommended layouts for the Supernova? Or do you have to watch how I bowl?

Particles are never hard to handle. Take this for what its worth, but stacked and cg out work great as label seems to be hit or miss depending on the bowler. Personally I like stacked on Lane1 balls and the Supernova is the best of the lot(Buzzbomb excluded as I haven't thrown it) because I love the reaction of particle.

supernova is a solid not a particle

for whats its worth i like stacked ( ALOT )
me not like cg out

buzzbimb is also a solid, but has the reputation of being layout sensitive

i dont know what layout is b for the BB, but if your not happy with it
i would strongly suggest plugging it and re-drilling it

as this BB is worth it
