It is true, I tried to polish up my Liberator last night, and just would not take a shine wortha crap. Was using beans polsih, since I get the mosty mirror likes polishes from the stuff and just nothing but a very slight shine.
Has anyone know the reason why, the ball is a lot stronger than advertised and needs oil to work from what i seen last night.
Seems like a good ball where oil is present with squeaky clean backends, hitting power though is quite impressive lots of messengers.

I don't know the reason, but urethane is hard to adjust the surface on. Maybe since there is no plasticizer like with resin, the pores are much smaller and tighter together (also a reason they don't die to any appreciable amount), so the surface doesn't appear to shine. I'm just taking an educated guess, so if I'm wrong, please correct me.

OK. The Secret Sauce will not polish a Liberator quickly out of the box. You need to change the surface with sanding to the highest grit you can get to. Then polish with firm pressure and you will get the mirror you want.
I have a marble on display at the Lane#1 booth in Albuquerque.

OOB is too aggressive for me. Do you think 2000 abralon will be good without polish Beans?

LaneHammer20,
I wonder if you really have it at 2000 grit. I have sanded a few urethanes and they really abuse sandpaper AND Abralon. Since it comes 1000 grit, I think you need to slowly take it up the scale with sandpaper (because Abralon only goes from 1000 to 2000) like 1200 grit, then 1500 grit then 2000 grit. I believe you need to do each grit several times with water and a good deal of pressure being careful of the spinner.
Because you say it's still checking up early, I suspect it make not have taken the full 2000 "treatment". I only recommend this cause I knowhow hard it can be. I did a Thunder Flash, a Thunder Flash Pro and an old Blue Hammer. The Blue Hammer was the worst. Don't know how such a hard to sand ball could hook so much and so early!
Also since Beans polish only has a little abrasive in it, you might want to try a treatment that has more abrasive and more aggressive abrasive in it, like Brunswick's Rough Buff.
Good luck.

thaks charlest, I will try that, I have some 1000,1500, and 2000 grit sandpaper, I will give it a try the way you explained and come back with the results. When I used the abralon, I applied a good deal of pressure, and the surface seemed really hard, and I couldn't really tell if it did anything.
I think my next purchase of cleaning, surface products I wiull get some rough buff, have heard good things about it. thanks
