Post current Lane #1 Arsenal

I'm having good success with the Cobalt Bomb pearl and am thinking of going all Lane 1 -

Lane 1 folks, please post your current lineup (of currently available or easier to find balls - I'd like to snag what I need before places start going out of stock on things) or what you would suggest for a 4 or 5 ball lineup going from heavy oil to light.

thanks for your help.

I think more importantly is what arseanl you would like to cover all conditions. Here is what I would recommend to go with your Pearl Cobalt:

1) G-Force or Solid Uranium- Heavy Oil
2) Solid Cobalt Bomb or Tsunami- for Med-Med Heavy
3) Cobalt Pearl
4) H2O or Bullet- Lighter Oil
5) XXXL or Crystal Diamond- Spares and burnt lanes.

You could even use an Enriched Uranium in here somewhere for carrydown and breakdown purposes as it is pearl particle. Just my $.02. Good Luck!

Bullet
SCB
GN
XXXL
Emerald
Pro  Purple
U-Pearl
Silver
Super Carbide
Teal

(I think I've missed one or  two,  but they're all older).
Pretty much older stuff, as you can see, but it all works well for me.

Super Carbide
V2 Sanded
Tsunami
Uranium HRG (on the way)
Scout Pearl Urethane (Spares)

Eventually will replace the V2 and the Scout but for now they are working good together.

I've got a G-Force for those heavy oils and a Uranium HRG for everything else. I find the HRG such a versatile ball that I even bought 1 and kept it as a spare (undrilled just in case). My spare ball is just the regular plastic Maxim.

Thanks to all who have responded so far - this is very helpful.

I'm finding the Cobalt pearl is very versatile, so to start, I'm looking for something to handle heavier oil or alot of carrydown without burning up (Enriched Uranium)?  I'll be looking at the H20 and XXXL for lighter stuff.

For those who have an HRG and Cobalt pearl, is there a major difference or are they too close to really need both?

The XXXL can be very good for spares and light and ths with very cleand and dry outer boards... there the XXXL can reach the pocket and this ball certainly has power

The H2O I don't know but I have been advice this ball for med-dry to compliment my Tsunami...

If you need something stronger and you like the pearl Cobalt why not a Solid?

A friend's Enriched is very good on med and for sure skids good without burning up... the disadvantage is oil... though it is strong the ball imho skids too much around to handle much oil

Get a Bullet no matter what!  Obviously it's gonna work on light oil/later in the night.  But even when I'm just struggling with whatever's out there, I can find a line with the Bullet that will work when I can't seem to get it there with my other stuff.  Straight up the 3 board or whatever, that ball is magic!  And old enough to be very affordable.

The Solid Uranium was my favorite Lane 1 ball overall.  But it got messed up by the ball return, so the alley in in the process of replacing it with a G Force for me for free.  Should've had it already, but they sent us an HRG instead, so they're trying to straighten everything out.

So my suggestions are, wherever they fit in your arsenal, Bullet and Solid U (if you can find them both).

The Cobalt Pearl and the HRG for me are used for the same condition or close to. This is why I didn't mention the HRG even though I like mine more than the Cobalt.

If I would have listened to Doug Sterner way back when I bought my Golden Nugget off him I would not have spent all the money on the rest of these saws.......... YEAH RIGHT! LOL

I have that can go in the bag at any moment....
15lb Deep Danger Zone. I know its not Lane #1 but its money..... in my pocket everytime I throw it....
15lb Pearl Carbide Bomb.
15lb Golden Nugget. x3 (2 drilled for me)
15lb Offset H2O
15lb Uranium Pearl
14lb Tsunami
15lb Cobalt Bomb Pearl.
15lb Silver Diamond.
I carry only a three ball bag to anywhere I go unless a tourney.
In that bag everywhere I go....

Uranium Pearl
Tsunami mostly for spares as its the wrong weight (unless the shot dries out or the backends are screaming)
and usually the offset...

Other than that the way they are listed is the order they are used from heaviest to lightest oil....

Obviously, the G-Force and HRG are current and readily available.

The G-Force revs up hard in the midlane and is very strong overall.

The HRG will be similar to your Cobalt Pearl, maybe a little less flippy. I scuffed my HRG, and it is a monster on a fresh THS. I left my Cobalt Pearl in OOB finish, and it works great once the shot breaks down and forces me inside.

Of the others, I would highly recommend a Bullet for light. That is the ball that keeps saving my butt in tournaments.

Otherwise, you will have to decide what is right for you. I have them all, and have had good times and bad times with each and every one of them. I would recommend getting one or two at first. Make sure you try something with a diamond core, too. They are noticeably smoother at the breakpoint.
