Due to the scarcity of the Cherry C2, what's the next best ball using the same coverstock? DZ?
-
Isn't the Cherry C2 a pearl (it is)?
Then the current Brunswick Swarm uses the PK 18 pearl coverstock.

Inverted 1 and Dead Flush are my Evil Twins...

Let me clarify. I'm not looking for a list of balls that have the same coverstock. I'm looking for opinions from people who have thrown balls with Powrkoil 18, including the Pearl Cherry C2.

To those of you who have not thrown the Cherry C2 (I don't want to leave you out), what is the best Powrkoil 18 ball you have thrown? Sorry.
-
That's easy: The Fire Quantum. It was (is) actually a better ball for me than the Cherry Buzzsaw.
On the other hand, what's best for me is not likely to be best for you. Brunswick balls, the vast majority of balls with a PK 18 pearl coverstock, roll nothing like Lane#1 ball. The cores are too different.

What other Lane #1 balls had PK18 on them?

Silver Diamond- PK 18 pearl.
Many others used PK 18 solid: the Black and Pink Raspberry, Cranberry, Blueberry among others.

Silver Diamond hands down the best PK18 ball ever produced..
The Black ICE Danger Zone was a close second.. Nice 1-2 punch with the different core shape.
Solid balls the Berry series was money all the way..
The Danger Zone was by far the best Brunswick PK18 Solid..

I think to say that the Silver Diamond is "hands-down" the greatest PK18 pearl ball of all-time is grossly inaccurate. I understand you're a Lane#1 guy, but in terms of balls sold and overall satisfaction, how can you neglect such pills as the Fire Quantum (which, the OP will be glad to hear, can still be had for a reasonable price), the Rhino Pro T2, and so on in favor of the Silver Diamond (which cannot be found for a reasonable price, at least not NIB)?

I still throw almost all of these. The lane 1 were the cleanest and sharpest of the balls mentioned fire quantum was close in reaction clean and sharp imo the black ice, sage quantum, night flash red alert were stronger in the mid lane rounder on the backend. Of the newer balls I didnt like the bvp line for the lack of carry from what I saw had the nemesis rolled great to the pocket not alot of hit and I dont throw the mexican stuff so Im stuck with the old lines. Just for reference I currently have 2 silvers,2 black ices,1 fire, and traded my bro the c2,in 15lbs. I have thrown the black ice, night flash, c2 and sage tour in 16 also. I also own about all of the solids made except the pink raspberry hope this helps.

I was not a Lane#1 guy at that time. I am a fan of virtually every PK18 ball for every company that used it. BUT... My Silver Diamond still out performs 90% of all balls on the market. That is not sales bull because you can't find one reasonable. Maybe that is why!!!

Wasn't the remake of the Silver PK 17?

My C2 is still one of my bigger pieces it is verstong off the spot and reads the mid lane somewhat. Hate to disagree with Beans but I think the C2 is the best PK18 pearl ever, however the silver diamond is the ball that turned me on to Lane 1 so...
Out of all the other ones I've thrown(which is 90% of the ones that have been mentioned) I think the Red Alert Night Flash was the closest. When I was throwing 16 I had one of each and prepped the covers slightly different and man oh man would I destroy THS with that two ball arsenal.
As ballcollector stated, I would stay away from the newer stuff, the cores are weaker than the older stuff and therefore don't seem to have as much pop. Plus, they moved to Mexico and we could use those jobs they took away in the good ole U.S.of A. these days.
-
the cherry c/2 is great, still carry one with me, silver diamond was a great ball as well, but when you talk pk18, the danger zone has to win that hands down, with the black raspberry right there, the danger zone was so prevaliant on the lanes, how can one ignore its significance
now the monster line was fantastic as well, with most of those having pk18 on them, dont forget the tude III prolly the strongest of the pk18 pearls, I would throw that against my cherry any day of the week. there are so many to choose from, pk18 was and still is the stock that all others desire to be

Just saying... He's not kidding. Take this from someone who's not a Lane#1 guy. I respect their stuff, I think they are good quality (as are most current balls), but Beans' Silver Diamond.. Man, talk about the biggest skid/flip i've ever seen from a pearl. EVER. I've even owned over 50 balls. Nothing compares.
Ok, that's all. Good luck picking out a ball, taylorj99.

Not to my knowledge Barry...
I had all 3 runs and they all were fairly similar except the color on the first batch had some yellowing to them.

I have never really matched up real well with the Brunswick poured stuff, but it is refreshing to pull out the Danger Zone every now and then.
-
Thanks for all the input. There are alot of great balls on here. I think probably the easiest for me to find would be the DZ or the Fire Quantum. Of course I may have to put that off for a little while since I'm getting a NIB Pearl Uranium from Beans.
-
Thank you sir. I will give an update once I throw it.
