Since when was the name G-Force copyrighted? Not much of a case here.

There is no lawsuit possible.  This ball is made overseas, and there is no international copyright for the name.

names cannot be copyrighted. nobody has a leg to stand on either way in this situation if thinking about suing. doesn't matter if overseas or here.

no but a name can be trademarked

copyrights and trademarks hold up a whole lot better in court

As far as I know, you cannot legally block the name "G-Force" as a brand. If you wnat to protect it, you have to link it with an area of use, e. g. sporting goods, bowling balls or nuclear warfare.

Then, you will have to register your trademark for a region or country. In some areas like the EC you can have a legal protection for the whole region, but most of the times you will need to have national protection with individual registrations - costly and very time consuming.

Sorry,

This name was taken way before all of these bowling balls.

if a company were to copyright or trademark a name on a bowling ball they could effectively block any otherbowling ball company from using the same name

GEEEE FORCE!

Wow, they're an exact copy of these guys...2 stern leader-type men, a fat guy, a woman, and a kid:

Wonder which series was first?  Because they're virtually carbon copies.

G force was first. After it was off the air I watched tranzor Z for a while, then voltron was on & I watched that.
