Help.
« on: January 03, 2004, 09:13:38 AM »
I've never had a Lane #1 ball before and I need help deciding on a ball.  For dry lanes should I get an XXL or XXXL?  I'm a high speed/high rev player.  Thank you in advance for any and all replies!

I'm not sure how much they are.  If anyone here knows how much these balls are new, please post for me.  Thanks!

Suggest you see Doug Sterner's website,
http://www.dougsproshop.net/Lane1.html
for Lane1 prices. He is among the largest sellers of Lane#1 balls, can probably give you the best price, posts here often, and is one of the most devoted pro shop owners I have ever known. No, I am not a personal friend. He has proven himself to most of the ballreviews community.

There is nothing out there to compare to the XXXL and I am not a paritcular Lane#1 fan. AS for the XXL, the pearl urethane, if you have decent hand, it may be too strong, according to many reports, stronger than some other very mild resins from other companies. I think, but am not sure, that the Visionary pearl urethane (both have 2 piece dynamic cores), the Slate Blue Gargoyle, may be closer to what such a ball, 2 piece pearl urethane, should be, and is about $20 - $25 cheaper at discounted internet prices.

Out of sheer desperation, to fight an absolutely horrendous house shot, I have just ordered the XXXL, a plastic ball. We shall see what we shall see ...

I put a review out for the XXXL as I bought one used off of ebay. Well worth the money you may spend getting it new. In my humble opinion, that is.
