Hey guys,
Not a basher here. Just a curiosity question for all the hardcore lane 1 loyalists.
Do you ever feel like your missing out on something by just throwing lane 1 stuff. I know according to ya'll that lane 1 makes the best stuff ever to hit a lane. I don't know I have never had the pleasure of throwing any thing made by them. But by just lane 1 balls, do you ever get the feeling you might be missing another great ball by refusing to try big B or storm, etc, etc?

while I can't speak for everyone here, and I know that even though I do enjoy buzzsaws, I don't exclude other companies. I think most people don't exclude all other companies.
When did anyone say they refused to try big B storm etc? I happen to think that Big B makes some fantastic products.

Buzzsaws are very, very dangerous.

Ok, I guess I screwed up my wording. I mean the true lane 1 fanatics. The ones that refuse to throw anything but lane 1 products. You know who you are. lol. That's who the question was reffered to, not the casual lane 1 bowler.

I like my Lane#1 balls, but I don't exclude other companies.
I also use Storm, Brunswick, and Track bowling balls.

You will not see me on the PBA Tour, but I love the game!!!

I think that is more of a general question, because the same is true for anyone that throws just one brand.
I think experimenting is good, but if you have something that is tried and true,
visionary, Lane1 etc, why change.
Right now I use LAne1 and Visionary. They are the two best companies for my game right now. THere has been only one other ball that has been any good for me once I stopped throwing my Rhino T2, and that was the Messenger TI Blk/Gld.
I only throw the Pro Purple, and the Viper from Lane, but I love them both.

i'm a lane #1 fanatic, no doubt. i have thirteen lane #1 balls, and love them all.
i do occasionally buy another company's ball, and like quite a few. i still end up throwing lane #1 90% of the time.
the lane #1 fanatic is a connoisseur of fine bowling pleasures. we'll dabble in other little treats, but always come back to our fine corinthian leather chair and our snifter of brandy . . . and our lane #1 bowling balls!!!!!

And the award for best answer to my question goes to

I tried Lane 1 a few years back...well, when the Pink C2 was in production actually and I absolutely despised the balls.
I then started on BR here and saw that everyone was Buzzing about the Saws again so I tried a CHerry C2 and an XL...good stuff but nothing my Storm equipment wasn't doing for me.
Then last year I had my trusty X Factor and was loving life but the Deuce confused me, the HRG was a dud and the Big Hit solid hooked way more than it should have. So I said enough is enough and I started looking into Saws again. I mean I had been selling a few here and there (Carbides, Super Carbides, Cherry C2's, etc) but never really gave them a fair shakedown.
In the Spring of 03 I got hooked...the Pearl Cherry Bomb made me a believer. Out with the Storm stuff and in came the Lane 1.
Since then I have thrown mostly Lane 1 but I have an Inferno, SLing Blade and a Blue Retro as well. I have tried a Frenzy and a V-2 solid as well but none of these other balls give me what I get from the Buzzsaws....that solid midlane roll and smooth, predictable ball motion. The Lane 1 pearls have been the only ones I can call predictable for my game.
So yeah I am a SawMan but hey...I use what works. If I threw back to back 750's with a Ti Messenger you bet your bottom dollar I'd be using one the next week instead of my Emerald.
