I agree with Badger! The ball is worth it if someone is willing to pay for it.

Just because someone is WILLING to pay a certain price for something, doesn't mean it's WORTH that amount.  It just means you found yourself a buyer dumb enough to pay what you're asking.  Nothing against the person selling it for that price at all, if they can get $300 for a ball, more power to them, I still stick by the statement that no bowling ball is worth $300 or more.  I hope cjbenavides fins what he's looking for, and at a reasonable price.

Do you Golf??

Why do people pay $400+ for a driver that they don't even use on every hole?

Any item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Plain and simple.

I have sold dozens of rare gem balls for over $300 a piece. I got $750 for my last 15 lb. Pink Raspberry and $600 for the one before that.

It is usually people that can't afford luxury items that say they are not worth it. If you have $10 million and you want something bad enough that isn't easily accessable and you pay $1500 for something that originally sold for $250. Then that is what it is worth to that person.

Why leave money on the table? If someone is willing to pay for something at a higher price then you make more money correct?? If it doesn't sell you lower the price..

Buddy...I have more luxury items than you could imagine, so that has nothing to do with it at all.  I have more disposable income than most, but I still wouldn't pay over $300 for any bowling ball, it's just a waste of money.  I am saying if you are willing to pay more than $300 for a bowling ball (especially a ten year old Lane #1 ball), you need to get your head examined, period.  Nothing against the seller, if you can get $1,000 for a bowling ball, the more power to you, I have no problem with that.  But WANT and WORTH are two different things, which is a concept lost on you apparently, which is the point I was trying to make in my previous post.  Geesh, get over it.

Sorry if I don't bow down the the mantle of ancient buzzsaws and think they're all worth $12,000 NIB apiece, to me they're just old bowling balls worth no more than they were when they were released.  Maybe they should have MAP pricing on those to ensure people aren't getting screwed.

False. The more you want something, the more you're willing to pay for it. The worth of the item remains unchanged.

I know bowlers who have paid over 500 bucks then won sweepers for 10k, so cost is irrelevant if you are that good and know how to use the weapon the correct way.

You can easily get 500 for a 15 lb perfect spec Tour Power and that ball was a Power Line mid priced ball when it first came out.

Why would a carpenter spend $100 for a hammer when you can get a hammer at the dollar store for $1.00??

It is the same tool.

If somebody pays $100 for something. How that not what the ball is worth???

If you tell me something is worth $500 but I can only sell it for $100 then it is worth $100.

PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!
