If you actually own a Dynamo and have used it enough to understand its reaction, rate your Dynamo on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being outstanding. If you don't have a Dynamo....two things...I'm sorry, and your opinion won't be very useful in this thread.

My rating is 12.
10 just isn't big enough to describe how great this ball is! Power and control all in one package, with carry beyond belief.

for me, its about a 8. I think it hits very nice....keeps pins low and moving. But the actual lane reaction......I was expecting a bit earlier read, even maybe a stronger midlane. I actually got too much skid snap reaction with mine. With a surface adjustment, I can use it on heavier oil. My Agent Orange gives me a stronger midlane. But all in all....I do like the Dynamo, just have to use it on the right condition.
-
Mine worked very well on Viper this week.
I give it a solid 8.

I'm reluctant to give mine a 10, because nothing is absolutely perfect. But I feel comfortable giving it a 9.
I set mine up with the pin above the ring, and it gets a little more length than I originally thought it would. But the length part is OK because it compliments my earlier rolling BuzzBomb well.
The Dynamo is probably the best ball many bowlers will never try. The beloved Cell is not in the same category. The Black Widow and the Sauce can't hold a candle to it. The Dynamo really is one of those balls that comes around only every so often. It's a plain fun ball to throw.
-
My best ball at the moment.. Definitely a 10

And given that bone yard you call home for bowling, it's probably best that you'll never own the real thing.

only drawback is that it is so strong
so I give it a 9

I drilled my a simple label drill with the pin above the fingers... I actually hit mine with beans sauce at box finish because I had a Buzzbomb with some surface and didnt want them to overlap each other.
My impressions of the ball is that its ok on the right condition. I actually was on one of the sport patterns where you could play the ditch as long as you didnt swing the ball any or it would go through the back. The Dynamo wouldnt read the lane as good as my polished Buzzbomb which was surprising. Both balls were layout out very similar also.
I have since tried it on a couple pattern with medium oil volumes and it seem to work very well. The ball is very predictable, so all in all, I would have to give it a solid 9.5 because the ball does exactly what its suppose to do which is "roll" hard...
-
purchased a 15.3 1 inch pin,,,,,,,,,drilled pin under cg at 45 degrees.....took the surface to 4000 abralon no polish............picked it up in the second game and if it went anywhere near the pocket , it carried.problem was keeping it on the lane................great ball for oil or longer patterns, even carry down i would think,,,,,,will need a few more days out with it to be more accurate

I give mine a 10. I bought mine with the intent of using it at tournaments and my PBAX league. As others said it has a very strong, but predictable roll, which fits my game perfectly. I used it at the MD state tournament for singles and doubles and did extremely well. The ball gave me a huge margin of error and I carried so many off hits it was unreal. I had people from 8 lanes away trying to see what I was throwing. The first two weeks of PBAX was on the Cheetah pattern and it was too strong for that. I just shipped it along with three other balls to Las Vegas for the USBC tournament and if the shot at Ft. Meade Lanes is as true as I have heard it is, I should have a good look with it out there (I just have to execute...).

you really have turned funny, and I mean that w/ all sincerity ( meds adjusted ..lol )
I punched yet another dynamo today, and whooped it out on the chameleon for it's maiden voyage into life, and the ball is just frikkin sick.
this ball was made for oil / tougher patterns, and makes a house shot look.......well like a house shot
never had a look on the chameleon like i did today w/ the dynamo, and it's been a while since i rolled on a pba_x shot, and all I can say is that I am glad I had my dynamo.
Incidently the guy I was crossing w/ had the ALMIGHTY VG, and it was not even close to the same ball park as my dynamo in reaction /strength / or CARRY
yes I whooped him bad, and I was having just so much fun doing it.
I had an easy 3-4 more boards to play w/ that did he, it felt like I was cheating.
normal rating on THS = 9
all else / long / heavy volume / sport / pba_x = 9.87998789878999

see thats not entirely true, i have stuff from them I like but dont like they fill a void but are as far as i am concerned not as good of an all around ball as the Dynamo. of all the lane 1 balls i have owned/thrown the dynamo is far and away the best of the bunch. is it the coverstock the new core, me, cant say but this ball is in a league of its own with the lane 1 herd, it more then holds its own agains the storms/rotos brunswicks, and ebo camp its a shame that more people will not take the chance to throw this ball, if very easily could be as popular as the cell of last year and the Black widow of the year before (hummm werent they ball of the year too?)

yeah trigg i was going to kinda say the same sort of thing
dynamo is the real deal, and i have always said that, but I DON'T LIKE EVERY BALL THEY COME OUT WITH, and I tell it honestly.
p.s. the lane machine chewed up my newly punched dynamo yesterday, and it's all up in my track, I was soooooooooooo pissed, but I still another one NIB just screaming for me to punch up

CGsSuK-ling: For someone who wouldn't recognize a Dynamo even if it rolled you over, tattooed a calling card on your forehead, and left you for road kill, you seem to have a lot of opinions.
Didn't you read the disclaimer in the subject topic? :

If you don't have a Dynamo....two things...I'm sorry, and your opinion won't be very useful in this thread.
Is it lack of reading comprehension, or is it that you just don't respect the wished of folks who start topics? Most of the posters here are honest about their total Lane#1 experiences. I haven't loved every Lane#1 piece I've owned. I'm about to get rid of my Dirty Bombs (in great condition) because they've never really worked well for me. I have a short pin Cranberry that's exiting with them for the same reason.
You're hearing really good stuff about the Dynamo because it's a terrific piece. Nothing more, nothing less. If you ever decide to get one, please share, otherwise....

I will rate mine as soon as I get it from Doug. I will rate it against my Super Carbide Bomb in regards to heavy oil. I hope to be rating soon.

And no there is no follow the leader. It is fact. I've had a Twisted Fury Destruction (heavy oil ball) and the Dynamo is 6+ boards stronger than it.
Also have Track Phoenix (heavy oil ball) and the Dynamo is easily 5+ boards stronger.
Also have played with heavy oil balls from Hammer and Storm and none compare to how smooth and how much the Dynamo hooks at the break point. The Dynamo carries so many more single pins and sloppy splits than any of that other crap that's out there.

-------------------------
BALL SPECS
Pin Length - 3.5
Starting Top Weight - 3.5
Ball Weight - 15
DRILL PATTERN
Pin to PAP - 5
CG to PAP - 5
X Hole (if needed) - n/a
MB Location - No marked MB, but the implied MB is next to the thumb
Drill is pin over ring and cg stacked straight down
BOWLER STYLE
Rev Rate - 350
Ball Speed - 16...less sometimes when the elbow is acting up
PAP/Track - 5 1/4 by 3/8 up
PICTURE AND VIDEO LINKS
SURFACE PREPARATION
Grit - OOB 4k Abralon
Type (Matte, Polish, Sanded) - matte
LANE CONDITION - THS
Length - 37
Volume - Light
Type (Wall, Xmas Tree, Sport) - Wall that varies between dry and over blocked
BALL REACTION
Length - Moderate length, it clears the heads and reads the mids.
Back End - A very hard but controlled and confident arc that just won't stop. It continues right through the deck.
Overall Hook - MEGA hook. This thing will hook in the heaviest oil.
Midlane Read - A very good midlane read that builds to a strong smooth reaction
COMMENTS
Carry - The Dynamo carries EVERYTHING. Exceptional!
Likes - Smooth and powerful. It can smooth out an over-under shot. The ball never rolls out! You can actually play it in the med-dry and the smooth move just starts a lot earlier. You can play it in the puddle and it will still move.
Dislikes - The Dynamo is so smooth and never rolls out, so sometimes I keep it in play when I should go to something weaker.
Other - The reaction of the Dynamo and the Chainsaw are both so smooth, that I have an order in for a THS too.
I have tried the Dynamo on a drier shot using a handshake release and it went 45 feet straight out to the breakpoint and then made a hard smooth arc into the pocket and shattered the rack.
I have not messed with surface on the ball yet, but I have a friend who has his polished and it makes a BIG turn at the breakpoint. I'm keeping mine OOB for oil though. I can't wait for Richie to wrap a weaker cover on this core!

having crossed with all of those balls at one time or another, overall ability on the fresh, fairly equal, the dynamo drives harder IMHO.
on broken down shots is where the dynamo for me really comes alive, i have way more versitility then bowlers with similar averages as mine on the same lane conditions the balls you list seem to be early and labor on carry down where as the dynamo for me is far better with carry down and in deep

CG,
I love the scoffing/mocking, if that's what it was. For ME to date, the SCB IS the best heavy oil ball, and if you looked at my ball speed at the breaj point, you would see that. I have not thrown the Dynamo yet, and if it is better, I will say so. I see my SCB as a favorite because of the rg/diff, with the heavy particle cover as good, but I am hoping that the dynamo goes ahead of it. I am getting 10" of flare out of my SCB, with the oil rings starting 1" off the fingers and flaring almost to my weight hole, so u tell me.

I know I'm late resonding but I've been in vegas...using my Dynamo.
OOB for me I would only rate it at 6 It was good don't get me wrong BUT it didn't have the backend I was expecting. That being I do have higher ball speed and have a tendancy to push the ball past the break point.
After 5 games I took the surface down and now would rate the ball at a 10. This is one of those balls that coems along once in a GREAT while. The only other ball I have that I would rate a 10 is my Teal Rhino.
First time I used it after I took the surface down was championship night on my Mon league, shot 267 170 264 = 701. The middle game we hade to move pairs to a pair that is natoriosly squirlly. I made the wrong adjustment, made the right one in the last game.
The Dynamo has a very smooth but very HARD backend reaction to it. It reminded me of my G-Force, but much harder.

I don't have a Dynamo, but I did bowl a SASBA tournament with a guy who used one for about a half game and it didn't match up well for the condition. Not to say that it's a bad ball, you just have to match the ball to the condition. I've drilled and used Lane #1 in my shop before and a friend of mine liked them and used them for several years. They matched up to his style better than mine, he's a high speed with lots of revs and very high track. The SCB was by far the heaviest oil ball I've thrown and for most conditions I wasn't able to use it, it also flared more than any ball I've thrown. I'm not a basher I just like to read reviews from different bowlers using different equipment, cause everybody has their taste and everybody can't still use what they want. As a side note I've used everything from the original black buzzsaw, purple buzzsaw which was one of my favorites to the newer stuff! They make a good product, but it's not my choice to use. Thanks, Bruce

No prob. I got rid of that POS. All Lane 1. Using the Black Cherry Bomb right now. I was interested in the Destruction and used it. It is great on heavy. Not sure what or how you were throwing it? But it carries nowhere near the Lane 1 line up. And isn't as smooth down the lanes either.
