Re-drilled my first Buzzbomb
« on: June 03, 2008, 11:56:55 AM »
Re-drilled the first Buzzbomb nd when we drilled into the bll with the pin about one inch above the bridge I noticed that there was a hole between the fingers and under the bridge ll the wy to the pin.  Looks like there is  void under the pin area.  The filler (core) disinergrated under the bridge into dust.

Any thoughts?  Could this cause the problem with the ball performance?

There was something very similar to a Track ball back about 4 years ago.  The Rule did the same thing.  After drilling a few of them, the filler looked as though someone put a firecracker in the finger holes and lit it.  Track has not had a problem since then.  However, balls had to be replaced due to this.  Don't think you would be able to since you plugged and redrilled it.  But, it is definitely a QC issue.  It could definitely cause a performance problem.

You may have heard this already. But make sure the BUZZBOMB is NOT thumb heavy! With that cleared up LANE 1 will stand behind their products. I GUARANTEE IT!!!! They replaced a BUZZSAW with the CG mismarked, NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!!! The BUZZBOMB drilled properly is CONAN destroyer of the worlds. I'm serious. I like my cell, but I love my BUZZBOMB!

Thats true, its my first Buzzbomb and the one I sent to Lane 1 to see if they could figure out the problem with the ball.  They said it had 3/4 oz of thumb that being way too much.  So they plugged and re-drilled the balance hole in a different location trying to help with reaction.

Lane 1 sent me the first Buzzbomb back with a NIB Buzzbomb with it including a recommended drilling. Tremenous service and the second Buzzbomb is my first ball out of the bag. I have tremendous confidence in the second Buzzbomb drilled with the pin under the bridge and the CG kicked right.

So I drilled the second Buzzbomb with the pin above the bridge and the CG kicked right.  I'll probably polish it with Bean's/Lane 1 polish after I throw it along side the second Buzzbomb.

Thanks for the responses.

Bean's, it was a pleasure to meet you also.
