Redrill of Hybrid
« on: January 18, 2006, 11:30:22 AM »
I currently have a semi week drill on my Hybrid, I wanted it be really predictable and it was.  I was kinda dissapointed in the reaction so I have since changed my mind on how I want the ball to react.  I now want to get the most hook possible from it.  I am a tweener, I throw between 15-15.5 mph with around 380 reves and a 55 deg. axis tilt per my proshop guy.  So all you saw heads, I want to pick your brain on the best way to dill this ball for increased hook.  I have heard it can be a very drill specific ball.  I drill all my other balls for length and a hard breaking backend.  I just want to get the most hook possible out of this ball.  Please help!

I have a pretty strong layout on mine with pin below ring which is about 3 3/4" away from my pap. Almost leverage. It gets down the lane real well but seems to burn off a lot of energy right on the backend for some reason. Perhaps I drilled it too strong. But when I actually see some oil or carrydown, the ball comes alive. But with dry backends or shorter patterns, I tend to leave a lot of ten pins cuz the ball revs up real hard in the end and loses too much rotation too fast. That's my thinking anyway.

The ball was drilled cg out with the pin above the ring finger at about 2 oclock and it didn't really suit me.  It would hook, but to early and wouldn't recover if I got it out late.  I decided to move the cg in and the pin under the ring finger to try and give me more length and backend.
